I think you are referring to the hit on Scott Nichol by Maxim Lapierre. The same thing came to mind when I saw Ovie's hit on Campbell. Very identical. I don't have a problem with Ovie getting tossed or a suspension, but there was no call made in game on Lapierre. This league seriously has to get it's s*** together and start being consistent in the penalties that are called. Geez

I'd expect to see Osgood play one of these back-to-back games on Friday/Saturday, but unless Howard just falls off the face of the planet where he alone loses the team a game, then there's no reason to yank him as he's still been pretty solid lately overall, sans the Vancouver game where everyone was pretty much bad.

As much as I like Osgood, I have to think that Babcock goes with Howard as the #1 the rest of the way, including - if we make them - the playoffs. If Jimmy falters at that point, we have a Stanley Cup winning goaltender to fall back on. I don't foresee Ozzie getting any more than perhaps two more starts this season. He'll have to wait until next season to get his 400 wins. Quenneville would be stupid to play Huet over Niemi in the playoffs, seeing as Huet doesn't have playoff success in the first place - how much worse could Niemi be, even as an unknown postseason quantity? But this is Joel Quenneville we're talking about, so anything could happen with them.

was it a bad play by Ovie (by bad I mean it wasn't going to help his team) - yes. Was it dirty? I don't think so, especially given his reaction to the hit as Campbell laid there on the ice. He needs to be under control more, but I seriously doubt he intended to hurt Campbell.

God forbid you preface something like goals scored by mentioning that he's playing alongside the second highest point getter in the league this season. I mean that's just absurd. No one is saying Sammy is s***. But saying his play hasn't been inflated at all by the Sedins is just as absurd.

It has to do something with the management. How does every player we get rid of suddenly play 3x better? Are we holding our player's back, and instead trying to force roles?
