How do you know where they will be seeded? The game hasn't even been played yet. Nobody is on Osgood's nuts, nobody in their right mind thinks he is going to start in the playoffs. The only people that are exaggerating in here are the people that have an obsessive disliking of him. Everybody else, whether they are big Osgood fans or indifferent, are carrying on like normal here. I'm not going to get into the whole are you a fan debate thing. You all claim you are Wings fans. That's fine, I'm not going to argue that. Wanting somebody to fail though that plays on your favorite team - when he's dedicated a good bit of his career to one organization and doesn't have an attitude problem or is a jackass - is just embarrassing and pitiful though. That's how some of you are acting regarding this. Absolutely pitiful. I will never understand the obsessive Osgood disliking from some people in here.

Well I assume he grew up with his mom. It'd be tragic if they were estranged from a young age.

Why do we need to attack either goalie? No reason to try and use stats to hurt Howard, and no reason to wish Osgood to fail. Let's just be happy we have an experienced goalie as a back up, and a young stud who has played great all year.

Those stats can't be right, Eva, considering the Wings are 8-0-2 in their last ten.

For those of you who are of the mind "Chris Osgood sucks, Jimmy Howard should play 90 minutes a game" I have some information for you. In Jimmy Howard's last ten starts, here are his stats: W/L/OTL: 5-4-1 GA: 27 SA: 265 Sv: 238 SO: 0 Mins: 597 Sv%: .898 GAA: 2.71 SAPG: 26.6 And an inordinate number of the goals he's given up recently have been 'weak' goals. So claiming "Playing Osgood will ruin our season!" after the way Howard has been playing recently is ignorant, biased, or both. If Osgood is stellar against Philly, I wouldn't be shocked to see him get two of the remaining games after that. If he gets a shutout in impressive fashion, maybe even all three. Doubtful he can do anything at this point to change Babcock's mind on who the playoff starter is, but he might earn a couple extra regular season starts with some strong play.

Ok seriously....Hank has played SIX less games than Pasha and has 1 less point. This constant "Zetterberg needs to step it up" needs to stop (unless you're gonna call out th entire team). As for Flip, he has 35 points in 50 games and went on an huge streak when he was meshed with Z. Flip and Zetty also play great defensively- both of them, which cannot be said about Homer or The Mule so you cant just measure points as a yardstick for success. 10 days ago the Zetty, Flip, Bert line was the second coming but they dont score in a few and they are thrown under a bus...sheesh!

Lame. They stole my idea and changed the words around so they could say it is original. As you can see above Pierre Mcguire is a dousche who is a commercial break away from Rob Ray coming out of retirement for a few minutes. Man I miss Darren Pang being the on ice reporter on national broadcasts. And watching all those old broadcasts making all those videos I really miss Gary Thorne and Bill Clement. I don't mind Doc so much, but eddie is lame.

Just because you've been a fan for 20 years doesn't mean you're a "true fan". But, who are we to determine "true fanship" when the reality (imo) is that it's the heart behind cheering for your team that makes you a fan. I hated Hasek his entire time here; hated the guy his entire career for irrational reasons, but I still supported him as a Wing until he retired. I want the Detroit Red Wings to succeed regardless of who is playing in goal, if Howard falters I'm happy having Osgood take over, especially if he gives us a chance to win.

This game is over. Osgood was out way to far considering the situation.

To each their own, but it wasn't even close to being my biggest disappointment as a Wings fan. 1) 1994, 2) 2006, and 3) 2001 were far worse for me, in that order. It was a fun ride winning the Western Conference again and going back to the finals, the Anaheim and Chicago series were excellent! I was upset we lost, but I got over it quick. yeah it's ridiculous... 14games that could have been wins instead... or aatleast half of them... 14 OT losses are way too much... wings don't have as many wins as the teams near them in the standings because of all the loser-points

Why play him against a highpowered flyers team? They figure their goalie situation is so bad so detroit will score alot of goals and they are in the eastern conference so it doesnt matter as much if they miss out the points?
