    If Modano's career is over...

What do I think? I think you're jumping the gun far too much on an injury that's projected to last 6-12 weeks. That could potentially mean Modo's back before the end of next month, which would give him 3.5 months to establish chemistry with his linemates.

Only in Montreal. That's pretty sad to laugh at this. Did you ever think that she got all these items, put it in her car and was grieving too much to grab them out of her car? hell, when I'd get back from college, I'd leave my stuff in my car overnight because it takes a lot of work to unload all your items by yourself. Also, I'd love to see all of you condemning this women for leaving this stuff in her vehicle overnight to carry in all those items by yourself right after your spouses' funeral. Shame on you.

Shhh, why let facts get in the way? Crymson said he's never seen a hockey player have such an awful start after receiving a contract that was bigger than deserved, so we have to assume he started watching hockey only seconds before creating this thread.

Quincey was a depth defenseman who had one decent year in LA and a pretty good one in Colorado. It was the most minuscule of missteps in Wings management and isn't even worth mentioning. It was practically irrelevant.

I actually have no grievance with them. Overall Holland and Jimmy D are the best in the business. It's just funny that you have this weird obsession with explaining away one of their few missteps. It's great to hear you're getting paid for it! Otherwise it would just be kind of sad.

I believe everyone's issue (besides yours) is that apparently the sun rises from He Who Shall Not Be Named's ass according to the league. It's embarrassing, it's blatant and extremely frustrating.

    If Modano's career is over...

I knew a guy who knew a guy who had his hand cut off and they sewed it back on. He was a great hockey player and now he has to shoot with the other hand. He really sucks now. It doesn't look good for Mo. The experts say that it will be AT LEAST 2 months but I think that it will be UPTO 6 years before he can play hockey again... just sayin....

Crazy tight in the Western Conference. Just occured to me that with a win tonight SJ could go from 4th in their division, straight to 2nd. And from 10th in the Conference, straight to tied for 4th (Vancouver would have 1 less point, but a division leader slot). I know it's only 1/4 the way through the season, but it's amazing that 1 game can literally jump a team 6 slots up. Meanwhile a loss would drop SJ to 11th in the Conference, or get this..... A loss tonight will put SJ at the BOTTOM of their division. That's crazy. Win, they're second in the division. Lose, they're dead last.

    If Modano's career is over...

While I understand these types of injuries can be career threatening, all the credible hockey articles we've read have said 6-12 weeks. This is a CNN article about "Tuesday's Intriguing People." I'm gonna trust mLive, TSN and the other sources that follow it a little closer and not speculate based on a comment Modo was likely just stating in general.

Crymson doesn't believe that being out with an injury excuses a player from not scoring points while he's injured.

Sharks forgot to pay the damn electric bill again. Maybe they should play on the ice outside the arena.

i'll accept this thread simply because if quincey was third in defense points right now, there would be threads about how bad the management had f***ed up letting him go. you can't judge the quality of a decision like this until further down the road. obviously, this isn't the end of the story, but i think it's an important plot point as we weigh the decision as it happened.

Uh, hey Sid? Bragging about how few penalty minutes you have this season isn't much of a way to combat the allegations that you get preferential treatment from the refs...

Did Eva just compare a sure fire, first ballot hall of famer to Hudler, not Hudler to the HOFer, but the HOFer to Hudler? Really? C'mon man! Your man love for Hudler just got silly, just plain silly! Ha ha ha, that is reeeeeee-DONK-ulous!

wow, a trolling thread from Crymson regarding Quincey. I'm shocked. still trying to absolve Red Wings management of any responsibility for losing him for nothing? Keep up the good work! Luckily they made the right choice and we've still got Lebda and Meech as key components of our defensive corps.

Crosby did something borderline-to-actually cheap and s***ty? You don't say. I'm gobsmacked, twitterpated, flummoxed and flabbergasted at this news. Hold on while I find a wall to lean on, lest I become overcome by the vapors and pass out.
