If Nashville walks away from Weber and Holland doesn't get him signed. I think LGW.com will have a meltdown....

i would hate the wings for the rest of my life,if they somehow manage to get shea weber, but i will never hate shea weber,if he ends up a red wing then he will probally be booed for the rest of his career when the wings come to nashville.

    2011 MLB Season Thread

Sure it's meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but it's nice to see positive things in the media about our Tigers. I'll happily read a post about how the Tigers are the 3rd best team in the AL after the trade deadline. 6 games probably sounds harsh, but it's the MLB's way of insuring he miss his next start. Article says he'll be appealing it - but I doubt they let him off without missing a start.

    Weber Arbitration hearing...

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=585603&navid=mod-rr-headlines A couple other things in the article but it does clear a few things up I think.

finally an article that doesn't state that hockey armageddon is coming to destroy motowns dynasty... every non-wings fan thinks they're f***ed. it's good to see that someone finally did their homework before trash talking the wings. the wings are fine for the years to come...just look at all the prospects and you know they'll be fine. and holland fills the holes needed through free agency and doesn't overpay players so he can build winners.

    Report: Gary Bettman makes $7.5M

I said his sole purpose was to complain about people complaining about Bettman. Everybody else here came to this thread to complain about Bettman. See the difference?

I vote for same old s***. Sounds like they are passing on the best MLB in the game because they don't want to give him more money instead to get an older less productive counter part.

What are you talking about? Have you seen them playing? Have you seen their stat? What arguments do you think Laviolette have used to prove that drinking was in fact a problem for these guys? And that stopping it for a month would have a positive effect to their games? These guys are professionals, they don't require babysitting. That's why they get paid whatever they get paid. The very moment they need babysitting, their price falls down. I believe they realize it very clear. Flayers have just shipped 132 points (59 goals (~23%) and 73 assists) out, supposedly because of drinking problem... Well, it was their decision to make. I think both these guys are better off out of that organization. we must be looking at different stats...

Why are you so sure?! Why would Bab do such stupid thing? Why do you think Lids and Zetta would agree? Just (try and) picture this: Scotty goes to Larionov and ask if he stop drinking his regular glass of wine every day... Remember there is a difference between having trouble with drinking and living a normal life. If this Dry Island story is true, Carter and Richards are the only normal guys there, who would not comply with stupidity and object anyone, even a head coach, who interferes with their personal life.

Durant is a good signing if they get Tulloch... If they don't the team is no better than it was. Davis was a stupid signing, and if that money keeps them from getting better I am going to be mad. But I doubt he will be on the team. I am so pissed that they Missed out on J. Joseph. Houston paid him a ton, but I was thinking they would have gotten him and the best two LB in FA and might have actually won the division. Now if we get Tulloch we will have the best front seven and the worst back four in the league. At least that is better than the other way around. I think they are set in nearly every other position... which is a shame because there are some people I would love to see get brought in. Number one on that list of people we don't need but would love to have is Todd Heap. I guess the Lions just signed Eric Wright DB Hardly a victory... I guess he was brought up on rape allegations and charges for possession of the drug Ecstay. Hooray.

    Detroit Fans Have Turned Ugly

meh. If I wanted to read condescending, self righteous crap, I'll read Mitch Albom. He's pretty much cornered the market on it. More likely what happened is the guy went from being a sports fan as a kid, then returned and saw how it is as an adult. It's like people forget that the word "fan" comes from fanatic.

Thanks for the GDT, Hockeytown. Welcome to the boards, Wingsfan89. No reason we shouldn't win this. I'd love to see us 2nd in the Conference.

Only a limited amount of research was done methinks; as the article mentions that Holland re-signed "youngster" Joey MacDonald, who is a 31 year-old journeyman backup. There is also no mention of Daniel Larsson or Petr Mrazek, as the article makes it seem as if Pearce and McCollum are the organization's goaltending future, sink or swim. For Kris Draper, the article effectively states "In the future, Kris Draper's role will be filled by the guys who pushed him out of the lineup because they are better at being Kris Draper than Kris Draper is." Finally, the article is sort of two-faced. It can't seem to decide whether it is dealing with long-term replacement or here and now. Ian White won't ever be Brian Rafalski good, but Brendan Smith might. So what exactly is the article about? Maybe I'm being so critical of it because I used to be a copy editor, but it just doesn't seem to be anything more than a "the Wings have some players. Oh, and they have some prospects. They might play these guys." I'm starting to think that maybe blueadams wrote the article.
