If his mind and his body are gone and he is suffering, no, I don't think his family would want him to continue existing. Thankfully, the Howe children seem to be treating their dad's life with the respect that it deserves. I have the utmost respect for his family for the way they have cared for him in the twilight of his life. They have been honest and open about his condition. Caring for a dementia patient is physically, emotionally and financially draining. It's a shame they've had to go through this with both of their parents.

Line combos suck, and never kept to build chemistry. Maybe thats why the pp sucks. Being a 15 year hockey player, and defensemen.... i ve always hated when coach puts a forward on d for the pp. Want more scoring from the d? Use smith properly, Ditch kindl lashoff and ericsson, bring up oulette and Sproul and acquire cheap meaty dman to clear up the front of the net and block shots. Im not a fan of nestrasil, or miller for that matter. Swap them for weiss and callahan (seems more servicable then nestrasil) who am i, just a spectator though 😢

There's only so much medicine can do. In the case of a stroke, the brain tissue that is affected is literally dead already. Even for a younger person with access to the best medical care, teaching the surviving portion of the brain to literally relearn all those lost motor skills is a long and tough process. Add that to the fact that Howe also has been battling dementia for the past few years, and he's already quite old, and the odds aren't looking too great. I wish the guy the best, as well as his family, but unfortunately sometimes the best means a comfortable passing, surrounded by your loved ones. Obviously I hope that isn't the case and he rebounds from this.

Hopefully he goes quickly and peacefully.

I thought about it a little bit and in my opinion it would be very dumb of the Wings to use the stint just to send a signal to Weiss. The next one if needed would almost certainly be rejected. And it's not that he was a regular in the lineup lately so I don't get the penalize argument. For a player like Weiss it should be hard enough not to play while guys like Nestrasil do. All in all I'm very optimistic that this is the last step in his rehab and that we will see more of him once his stint in GR is over.
