2 pointsTHIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM! Srsly tho, I kinda miss Outspoken General Manager Brian Burke. GMs these days are boring. Not enough heels, and the faces are all vanilla and uninteresting. Not enough personality, not enough drama, not enough controversy, not enough shots fired. Need moar truculence.

1 pointCraig Button is the one that has compared him to Murph. I've also heard several draft analysts compare him to Carlson.

2015 Draft

Hakan is still riding a rep built on a few guys he found decades ago. If they get a winger who consistently scores 20-25 goals and another 20 assists, it won't be bad, just won't live up to the hype some people put on him. Therefore he "sucks." Like most prospects, I'd trade him for a young proven NHL player in a second, though. -

2017 Draft

I saw Petruzelli when he was with the Jacks, and he was a beast in the USHL. He was #2 goalie on a bad NCAA team last year, I still have high hopes for him. I'm still not sold on Rasmussen, but he did show something this year. I still think he ends up as a winger though. The other guys? Who knows. Once you get outside the top 15-20 picks in any given draft it becomes a crap shoot. You find guys with a certain attribute that could be NHL level and hope the rest of their game rounds out enough to make it. Speed is usually easiest to judge, but a lot of teams are looking for that now so it's harder to sneak a good one in the mid to late rounds. -

Cholo, Hronek and whoever we draft are pretty much a lock to be regular NHLers with Sulak and Saarijarvi being promising wildcards. Finish bottom 5 for another year or two and we can start being excited about hockey again. Even with Larkin, Ras and working in some young defenders I’ll have a lot more interest -

2015 Draft

He was drafted 19th overall. I would be OK with a middle six winger. If he was drafted in the top 10 or 15, then I would be very, very, very disappointed. What disappoints me the most is that Brock Boeser was taken 4 picks later. Obviously, i would rather have picked him. Saarajarvi was a 3rd rounder. If he at least turns out to be a 3rd pairing, I would be OK with that. I am just not going to expect Datsuk, Zetterberg type picks anymore. Those days are gone. So even if all we have to show from that draft is a middle six winger and a 5/6 dman, its okay. Not every year is going to be a home run. 2014 was a decent draft for us and 2016 was tremendous. I am OK with 2015 being a little light. -

Srsly tho, i got to see Brian speak at an event a couple years ago, and he took questions too. He spoke mostly about his expierence in law, but the man is seriously a bonafide badass away from the cameras and hockey. It's not an act at all. He literally just does not give a flying f*** what anyone thinks about him, and hes honest AF about everything. If I remember correctly someone asked him a very specific question that was borderline a little too personal/private, and he responded "cause f*** you, thats why". He said this very non-chalantly, with no anger, in front of a room of professionals in suits. My sides entered saturns orbit. -

There I go. Putting myself out there again, only to be spurned by another stupid bro who doesnt want to be treated well by a "great guy". Why do I even try? I'm well mannered and always respectful towards bros, but no, theyd rather hang out with some ******* who drinks all the naddy ice and hangs out with other bros behind their back. Bros are all brain dead these days. Back in the day we used to be able to go to sports documentaries together and hold doors for each other and have a nice time. BIG MISTAKE buddy. I was gonna let you watch me play gamecube back at my place after the doc and everything. Have fun being some doosh bros 9th BFF. I woulda made u my #1 and treated u MUCH BETTER. Idiot. -

I don’t know. I’m actually looking to just focus on myself right now...You know, really zero in on who I am? I’m sure you’re a great guy. But I just need sometime to myself for a while. It’s not you, it’s me... -

All in all not bad for a year when we didn't have a 2nd rounder. Most of them seem to exceed the potential of the players picked after them. Heck, even many before them. You're not going to hit on every pick and you have to expect other teams are going to hit on players as well. -
1 pointHolland needs to be all over this. For a team as stacked as the Canes are on defense, they can afford to give up a prospect like Bean. Add to that, the fact that they're likely drafting Andrei Svechnikov, they would likely have some interest in his brother, Evgeny. Seems like a pretty good fit there. Svechnikov and one of our late first, early second round picks is what I'd offer for Bean.

Smart fans and players understood that keeping a team a contender requires paying some guys to team friendly deals. Its impossible under the cap to sign every player to fair market value. Guys on ELCs will make less. Vets chasing a cup will take less. Its how it works. Any fans complaining about KH lowballing UFAs and chasing them away clearly had no idea how to run a successful NHL franchise. But then again, for awhile there, neither did Kenny!
