Yzerman was in his 14th season when he won his first Cup. Much like Ovechkin, he was the face of the franchise and got most of the blame when the team choked in the playoffs. There was even talk of trading him, like I've heard said about Ovechkin after the last few playoffs.

I agree that we don't need Jensen, but if he re-signs for $1M for another season or two, I'd be completely fine with him playing 3rd pair minutes. Now, if we can trade him at the deadline for a mid-round pick, I'd be okay with that as well. I don't see Jensen blocking any of the kids as much as I do some of the other defensemen on this team. But hey, if Blashill is true to his word and spots are actually up for grabs, and DeKeyser, Daley, Kronwall, Ericsson, Hicketts, Hronek and *Bouchard* all outplay Jensen, I'm more than okay with trading him.
