I know that this could also be posted in the trade rumors section but it also involves the off season so I'll put it here. There is something that I just don't get and maybe others can help me:
I just saw that the Leafs might be interested in Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi is my favorite Wing and we are lucky to have such a unique player in my opinion. What I don't get is why everywhere I look his name appears to be thrown out there for trade ideas. Why would you give up a fan-favorite who never takes a shift off? People want to know why Larkin's numbers were down so much this year? It does not take a rocket scientist to see that it was because Bertuzzi was out. Bert does the heavy lifting on that line. Most teams would love to have a guy like Bertuzzi, including Detroit if they lost him. I would not trade Bert just to make a trade or because he is 26 (still a kid to me) and he "doesn't fit the timeline". That is ridiculous. We complain that we can't get high end talent and then when we do, all that we hear are trade rumors. I have even seen many Wings fans throwing Vrana's name out there for trades as well. Unless it is part of a package to get a superstar #1 center, guys like Bertuzzi and Vrana should be cornerstones here.
