I'm always insanely pumped for the beginning of the season, but perhaps even more this year. I genuinely think this year we legitimately turn the corner. Aside from all the dead weight we got rid of, we are adding two top four defensemen and two top six forwards. Plus a full season of Vrana (and I maintain he's a considerable improvement over Mantha). AND I think by the end of last season Rasmussen and Zadina were really playing good. I'm super optimistic about this team.

LOL, so cops killing unarmed/innocent people isn't a problem because the media reports on it? I realize that you MAGA weirdos tie yourselves in knots trying to figure out how the media is to blame for everything, but even you have to admit that when the cops murder a guy for passing a counterfeit $20 bill it's fairly newsworthy right? Or should the media just stick to sports? Edit: Also, don't half of you support the same group that stormed the Capital and beat a bunch of cops half to death? I love you pretend to care about cops (when you wanna own the Libs) but then you also don't seem to give a damn about them when your own angry mob tries to murder them. Hypocrites. Rags and Philly man... Keep on making changes for the sake of making changes. Rags have finally been doing it right. It would be fitting for them to f*** it all up now.

Out of the 10-12 bottom feeder teams last season I think we probably improved the most. The teams with better records (Chicago, Calgary, Arizona, Ottawa, Los Angeles) were only barely better points wise and none of them (other than maybe Los Angeles) has improved significantly this offseason. Plus Seattle is going to totally suck. I'm guessing we're going to land somewhere around 12-15 in the standings.

I too am optimistic. If Leddy and Tanguay can improve the PP then I think that alone gets you half a dozen more wins. Especially if the goaltending is as advertised.

Maybe it's just because I'm a chick, but I didn't find his comment offensive when he said it. I figured that he didn't mean like actual females- trainers, maintenance workers, security, hotel staff, etc- that they were dealing with on a daily basis. I figured that he meant women- like puck bunnies. Maybe he should have been more specific. He should have said something like, "It's a good thing there aren't any loose harlots to distract them." Also, speaking as a woman, dogs and children are distractions from work. They're so darn cute and cuddly and you have to clean up after them, which is time-consuming. I would think that dogs and children are much more of a distraction than puck bunnies. Well, maybe just the children. You have to give them a lot of attention. All you have to do with dogs and puck bunnies is give them a bone now and then.

I think Raymond and Berggren are both on the team after the deadline (provided they're playing well) because I think at least two of Fabbri, Namestnikov, or Bertuzzi are traded by then.
