I keep seeing fans of other teams saying similar things about Yzerman being overrated because he's getting high draft picks to rebuild with, and he hasn't accomplished anything in Detroit yet.
Except he has. You could argue that he has won every trade he's made since becoming Red Wings GM, with perhaps the Perlini trade being the exception (although if Regula doesnt pan out, that trade would actually be a win). And the Fabbri, Mantha, and Ned trades especially, were considered big wins by pretty much everybody.
And his draft picks? 6th, 4th, 6th, and 15th. Yeah. Those are gimmes, right?
And it's like they completely forget that the team that just won 2 cups in a row was built by Yzerman.
I dont get the hate.
