    Because the players were probably asking for more. And by being patient and waiting, the advantage went to Yzerman the closer it got to the season starting.

    I don't get why this took so long. Same with Raymond. Both deals are somewhat what everybody expected them to be. Also, the length benificial because now they don't have to work out the next deals for Ray and Mo in the same year.
