It's going to be a tough one tonight so I'll get this in now.

I was sitting around the other day wondering if there was any correlation between fighting majors and winning games. After some thought I decided to take a look at the numbers. Below are the season by season breakdown accompanied by the total # of fighting majors, and the % of games won when the Wings had a FM. It's nothing crazy, but it seems as though - for the most part at least, that we have a decent winning percentage in games in which a Wing drops the mitts. The exception of course being 09-10. The numbers in the parenthesis is the total % of games won when the Wings incurred a FM *I did not include pre-season games, I stuck to regular season and playoff games only. 2006-07: 12 FM -- (67% win rate) 2007-08: 22 FM -- (55% win rate) 2008-09: 16 FM -- (69% win rate) 2009-10: 21 FM -- (48% win rate) 2010-11: 14 FM -- (71% win rate) 2011-12: 04 FM -- (100% win rate) The actual win rate has nothing to do with who won the actual fight, rather, how the team fared in the contest. I am not trolling, I am only posting this because I spent 2 hours doing it (slow day at work) and I didn't want it to go to waste. So take this as nothing more then food for thought. I am not advocating for an "enforcer" or anything like that. I love the team we have and if I could pick one part to add, it would be a top 6 sniper.

That's true. It would wake up the crowd at the JLA also. Those people miss the tough teams the Wings had in the mid to late 90's.

I don't think anyone here has seriously advocated enforcers because it means we'll win that game. You have to remember that the Wings are last in FM every year. Doesn't give us a big sample to pull statistics from. With that said, I still think we should get McGrattan. I'd give back my kids' Christmas presents for him.

    Stay classy Kesler

Here is why he is how he is... ..ok, it's fine to admire you hometown hero, and hell, even root for him. But to grow up in the Detroit hockey market and claim to be an Avalanche fan...no there is where the problem is. ...buckeye, need I say more? He also was tutored while earning his high school diploma while playing with the US National Team Development Program...can you say pampered *****? So there are a few reason's why he feels that he should not get hit like that...pansy.

I just caught that hit on youtube. HOLY HELL! Kesler got absolutely destroyed by that thing of beauty That plastering looked even harder than the beating Havlat took, if that's even possible. I think the funniest part was Raymond getting bulldozed by Franzen after he knocked off Nick's helmet and then Kesler falling over his teammate onto his face trying to get after Kronner. What a friggen clown. As far as Kronner answering the bell, when exactly was that going to happen? Kesler looked like a ****** charging at him when the refs had them both basically tied up. What, is Kronner suppose to shake off the ref, drop his gloves, and fight Kesler because of a perfectly awesome, clean hit? Nick's expression of WTF guy? said it all. Keep your head up next time and go sit the F down!!!!!

Why, let me break it down for you why this was the BEST decision to not fight after that hit; a.) you just stopped a breakout on one of the best two way players, i mean, the play completely stopped. Guess what, kronner did his job. b.) fighting injuries, as said earlier, are avoidable injuries. If you want to fight after you just got hit, you better be damn sure that hit was illegal. Kronners, as said many times before, is not an illegal hit. Kronner admits that he left his feet, not purposely but obviously when you step up on someone like that you're going to propel into them, it can be accidental. c.) we got a powerplay out of it, why? Because Kesler was acting like an idiot. Understandable, you were just laid out by Kronner, but guess what instead of crying because you got hit in a contact spot how about you DON'T take a penalty and go score a goal. Beat them with skill, not taking stupid penalties. I'm sorry, but absolutely nothing Kesler did after that hit was acceptable. His temper was up, obviously, but you can't let things like that take over your discipline. It's an immature move, especially from one of the highly skilled players in our league. It's just another reason why Vancouver doesn't go all the way and falls short, they don't have the discipline or maturity. Small things like this don't win championships, i don't care how small or big of a problem it is, I wouldn't allow my players to act like a bunch of teenagers on the ice under my watch.

Some people on here vastly overrate MacDonald. He's in the AHL because he's an AHL-caliber goaltender.

Send Conklin down and bring Joey up to back up Howie or just trade Conklin.
