Happy Pancake 6 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 I doubt there will be any crying Buckeye fans over the rematch after the USC loss and especially if Florida ends up losing. I could kind of see how they didn't want to beat us and then just straight have to play us again if USC had won out but if Florida loses too there's no debate that Michigan is the most worthy team to go against OSU. gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 (edited) I cant wait to beat you assholes again. Easy there big guy....you can have your rematch. No piece of s*** field to help OSU this time. Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 Touche. I wouldnt count on those big runs you busted either. I would count on Mike Hart running all over your D though I dont...I'll be happy with moving it 4 or 5 yards at a time. As for Mike Hart, he'll get his yards, but I think he might have given our D even more motivation after his postgame conference. WTF is going on this SEC game? Is the state of Arizona ready for the war thats about to be bestowed upon them? This could get real interesting. I remember me and Mannysbetter talking about how insane it would be for Michigan and Ohio State to meet undefeated one year.......I think this tops even our wildest imaginations huh? Happy Pancake 6 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 (edited) I remember posting at the beginning of the year that I didn't think Michigan could beat OSU this year. Well so far, I was right but the feeling I had when I posted that was that a 9-2 (at best) Michigan team would come into Columbus this year. Now the stage is almost set for the 2nd meeting in a row between the two runaway best teams this year. THAT exceeded all my expectations for this year. hockeyfanatic 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 Is the state of Arizona ready for the war thats about to be bestowed upon them? This could get real interesting. It's pretty funny that I'm leaving Arizona just weeks before the game, I would kill to be there if Michigan jumped back to #2. I picked a bad time to move to Ann Arbor
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 what kills me is that Florida, while up by 10 in the 4th is no longer looking just to win the game...but to win it big to get "style points"
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 I dont think it matters...I dont think theyll put Florida ahead of Michigan...maybe its a cocky thought but I think everyone knows we'd destroy Florida. Florida pulling out this one.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 I know I am going to get some replys from this, but I think Florida deserves the #2 slot ahead of Michigan. Here is why: ---Michigan didn't really beat anyone. Aside from ND and Wisconsin, who did they beat. Notre Dame blew it in big games (against Michigan, USC) and Wisconsin...has there ever been a more overrated 11-1 team. Florida beat 3 teams in the top 13 and had the highest opponent winning percentage in the NCAA. --Florida won their conference. Michigan is a 2nd place team. Both teams have the same conference record. --Speaking of conferences. The SEC has 6 teams with 8 wins or more. The Big Ten has 5. The SEC also has 2 teams with 7 wins with Big Ten having none. --Florida is riding a 6 game winning streak. Michigan is on a 1 game losing streak. --Michigan blew their chance against Ohio State. --And finally, is the BCS really going to screw Urban Meyer again?? The only thing I can really find in Michigan's favor is that the Wolverines lost by 3 pts to the #1 team in the land.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 (edited) I don't want to be a sour apple in here, I was happy when USC went down, but with Florida winning the SEC and now 12-1, I think they've made a good case to be in the National Championship. I watched most of the game and saw that their opponents overall record percentage was like .650, which topped the nation. Normally I could give two s**ts about trying to bring stats into any sports talk, but that one stands out pretty could. The bad win to Ball State could hurt Michigan. Florida, despite handily beating Western Carolina, might get affected playing a I-AA team. But why should Michigan get penalized for not having a "conference championship game" when they've taken care of most of their opponents in a pretty effective manner? I'm hoping for Michigan, but Florida could seriously have a case for leapfrogging them. It'll be interesting... There's just not a fair way to choose the opponent. Also, kudos to my alma mater with another impressive win today to get their 4th 10-win season over the past 5. Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 Florida was pretty far behind in the BCS, not insurmountable, but it'll take a lot. I think Michigan will also be hurt by the "what have you done for me lately" media. They havent played in 2 weeks and Florida has won 2 since.

I think Michigan will also be hurt by the "what have you done for me lately" media. They havent played in 2 weeks and Florida has won 2 since. Florida is #4 team across the board. Michigan was pretty much #3. Both teams will move up ahead of #2 USC but which team will move up the most. That will have the biggest impact in the BCS. BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 Florida plays in a much better conference. The SEC is almost always best conference anyway, but the Big 10 is down this year, with the exception of OSU and UM. Wisconsin put up a good record this year, but they didn't have to play OSU. Otherwise, Penn State was down, Iowa was down. Florida beat more ranked teams than Michigan did. I'll admit, I'm biased, but I think Florida is the better team. Really though, there's no way anyone can say that one team is better than the other.
Cruiser008 37 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 Florida may have played in a tough conference, but their 1-point wins don't impress me one bit,
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted December 3, 2006 OK this is bad for my health. I was very much settled into playing in the Rose Bowl. My mixed up thought right now: USC had a right to jump Mich after beating ND and play OSU. I personally think OSU would have slammed them - this I thought long before tonight's loss to UCLA. I must say I have come to really like Pete Carroll - even though I've never liked USC. He's done an amazing job coaching that team this yer - he lost two Heisman winners, and still almost got a not-as-talented team into the NC game. Very gracious when he loses too. Florida: I think they would get beat by either OSU or UM. In fact, I was thinking we would play them in the Rose Bowl until tonight (in a perfect world, UM should play Fla for a birth in the NC game). Their QB will get rattled by either D, he's not as good as Henne, and not even close to Smith. That said, Fla can make a good case, being in a tougher conference, and winning their championship game. But why should Mich be punished for being in the big ten? I've heard in recent weeks, USC shouldn't be punished for being in the Pac-10, (even though that conference improved alot this year). The media will screw UM. I'm pretty sure of it. It's all about what matchups THEY want, not who really is #1-2. Which might be OK with me if they would just come out and admit it. I can't say I'm really excited about a potential rematch with OSU myself. Who's to say Mich will beat them this time, even away from Columbus? And even if we do, I think OSU would deserve a share of the title - that's just my opinion. I personally enjoy playing teams from other conferences that we don't get chance to that often. It just doesn't feel like a championship year to me - having lost in Columbus. BUT, the BCS is set up for 1 and 2, and I truly believe OSU-UM are just that. The BCS needs to address this re-match business. I am actually surprised it hasn't happened before that two teams from the same conference, or who have played, are 1-2. Fla-Fla St, Texas-Okla, etc. What if Texas was #2, would they want them playing OSU again? This whole thing will give me headaches for weeks!
