What's with Chad Henne saying Michigan deserves to win this game? How can you deserve to win a game you haven't played?

Can't blame him. Michigan hasn't been too successful against OSU in the recent past - I don't think Henne's beaten them yet - and Michigan's having a dream season. Gotta believe OSU feels the same way, since they've been anointed as the team to beat since Day 1, I'm sure they feel like Michigan's kinda stealing their thunder a bit. I'd be glad if I were you that OSU hasn't come out and said it. I wish Henne wouldn't. I know it's gonna be on a bulletin board somewhere in Buckeye-land.

How does he know they were Ohio State students? Were they wearing shirts that said "I'm a student at Ohio State." And if they were students, why were they driving to the game?

Well when you're 5 minutes from the horseshoe and young adults in all OSU gear attack you assume they're OSU students.

I understand that you're pissed because everyone gets the assumption that you guys are way to outta control. U-M, and every other school has a good number of dumbass', but when people such as the Texas AD say that his team will never go to Columbus again you must admit your school has a problem.

I can't blame him either. Although ranked No. 2 U-M gets less love compared to Florida, and the greatest school ever ND (who they killed on national TV) I don't think he's trying to disrespect OSU, or pull a Jim Harabaugh to the media, but just to prove the world wrong like they have been this whole season.

since we got a couple more days until the game, i will throw this question out there.

If OSU wins, does Troy Smith win the Heisman trophy? If OSU loses, does he lose it as well??

Yes, and Yes. Quinn will win if Smith loses even though Quinn plays only 2 hard games every year, and just runs up the score on his powder puff schedule all year

please! Michigan gets tons of love. Michigan is always ranked high. Florida gets love to but THEY ARE A GOOD FOOTBALL PROGRAM.

The only problem Michigan has is they are behind Ohio State in the Big Ten every year. Only way to change that is to win on saturday.

I know U-M gets love because they are one of the best football programs all time, but your telling me ND gets talked about less then U-M. You would be kidding yourself if you thought that. Your right too, UF is a good program, but U-M is better and always will be better no questions asked.

Behind OSU in the Big Ten every year huh? Who has more Big Ten titles? Thats what I thought too...

ND is on the national spotlight every week. No other NCAA football program can claim that.

let me rephrase. Since Tressel took over at OSU.

Your right...which I why I think Henne said they deserve it because although they kill america's team, go through Big 10 without a lose, and still don't get much respect compared to OSU it would only be fitting.

I dont know, OSU gets a lot of love, but Michigan gets nearly as much this season. The last month and half or so it's been, "ho-hum, Ohio State goes onto win 44-3". They havent been making a huge deal of our wins, which they shouldnt but people realize we've been taking care of business and been playing great in the big games we played. I think we've earned the respect, but so has Michigan. You just have to realize, with our offensive prowess, it's gonna get more attention than defense. It always does.

It stems from a few things. First off, at least in football, Michigan usually beats MSU. So we Spartans fans just have to hope to see UM get beat by other teams, since most of the time MSU can't beat them. It's a moral victory of sorts.

The other reason is the UM fanbase. I actually respect the University of Michigan itself. It's an excellent school. Too bad the vast majority of their fans A) never went there and B) couldn't get in unless they were pushing a broom. Now, it doesn't bother me so much that these people cheer for a school they could never get into. I understand that UM is a powerhouse when it comes to football, and it's fun to cheer for a winner and their cool helmets. FYI, MSU wore the winged helmets before UM did. What pisses me off is when UM's white trash fanbase acts superior to Spartans, despite the fact their only association to the university is hanging a UM flag outside their doublewide meth lab on game day. You want to cheer for the Weasels, fine. But don't act like you're superior to me when UM beats State. At least I went to the college I cheer for.

That's only true for football. As far as I know, UM considers MSU their main rival for basketball, where UM is usually the underdog, and hockey, where the teams are usually even. MSU holds a 5-1-5 record against UM in the last few years in hockey actually.

Yeah, my Mom went to Michigan and my family's from the area, hence my fandom. I was raised with it, and I go to a Division 3 school here in L.A.

Btw, Michigan holds a 9-2 edge over MSU in hockey National Championships. ;)

At least we can all agree....f*** Notre Dame.

Yes, we can all agree on that note. Tell you what HTRW, we'll beat you and you can go beat Notre Dame for all us Big Ten fans in the Rose Bowl. How's that sound?

Thank god times have changed. I appreciate a good running attack, but the college game is so much more exciting than anything right now.

What's good about a good running attack is nobody uses it unless they're really good at it. Like Michigan or Navy. It's fun to watch your team stuff the ball down the defense's throat. More fun than the passing game, even, because you always know in the back of your mind the pass might not work all the time. A really good running attack dominates the game. It's not fun to watch your team pile up 4 yards on three downs and punt five times in a row. Navy can do it because they're damn good at it - one of the most fun things I've ever seen in any college football game was to watch Navy take the ball on their 20 with a little bit of time left in the 3rd quarter and a small lead, and not give it up until there were 2 minutes left in the fourth, by scoring a touchdown. Not one pass was thrown. Teams use a passing attack now because if they suck at offense, at least the pass will work every so often. If the run works, it works, and if not, there's no point trying.

Bingo! The run game: 70% of the time, it works all the time.

And because it's Mike Hart taking the handoff, that poor ball will never again know what the ground looks like, no fear that a run attempt will be a turnover; or usually even be negative/no gain, like the treacherous forward pass.

Which will be the big reason why Michigan upsets Ohio State this Saturday: run game for the win.

I recently went to my old high school's football game. All they did was run, it was so painfully boring that I don't know how people could stand to watch football before the forward pass was invented.

On a side note, my high school's fight song is the OSU fight song and our colors are blue and gold. I will never get used to cheerleaders screaming 'GO BLUE!' while that vile song plays at the same time. ;)
