mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted January 10, 2007 Anyone else think that the NFC representative in the Super Bowl is going to be the winner of the Philadelphia and New Orleans game? It's very possible, but I picked SEA to go...so I say NO

You didn't like the Stones last year? Or Paul McCartney the year before that? I think Prince is probably a step down. I think this is a pretty good year. None of the teams I don't like are left. I do like the Bears and Saints, always have.....and I usually pull for the Colts, it'd be nice to see them win one after coming close all this time. Was definitely rooting for them today, as I like them and do not like the Ravens. As of now, the worst-case scenario Super Bowl would be Pats-Seahawks, and given that it could have been Ravens-Cowboys, that's not bad at all.

Did you WATCH the halftime show last year? Jagger's talent must have missed the flight--because it was certainly not on stage during halftime. Prince is about two or three steps up from the Stones if that's what you get from the Stones nowadays.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted January 14, 2007 Unfortunately, or fortunately I guess, I missed the last couple of Super Bowls. For the most part I really do think they are extremely boring, As are most NFL games IMO. I love the Stones and Sir Paul, especially when he was with the Beatles. That said, I was watching a repeat of last year's Super Bowl halftime show ... pure cheese, Limburger style.
Happy Pancake 6 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Tom Brady. I can't wait for Manning vs. Brady!
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Are the Pats the luckiest team in NFL history of what? From tuck rule to this, a DB fumbling a pick on FOURTH DOWN. Why do DBs go for interceptions on fourth down? Usually it's some desperation throw that's nowhere near a receiver, all they've got to do is bat it down and they get better field position, and avoid some fate worse than death, like what happened to the Chargers. McCree signle-handedly blew it for San Diego today. He'll be the biggest goat in that town's history. My goodness.
Cruiser008 37 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Tom Brady. I can't wait for Manning vs. Brady! Ditto for me. The AFC Championship may not have the flash and glitz of the Super Bowl, but IMO the game itself has the potential to be a classic. Brady's poise is unmatched and Belichek (sp?) is a genius, but Manning is the best QB in the current Era and in addition to playing at home he now has Vinateari on his side. Can't wait! Heaton 1 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Maybe best QB in the regular season.
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 I really want Peyton Manning/Dungy to win a Super bowl, but how can I cheer against my boy Tom Brady?! Brady/Belichek are simply amazing. NE isn't even close to the talent of all the other AFC playoff teams, but they still win. How do they do it?! What is Brady's record in the playoffs? Like 12-1?? That has to be record
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 I'll be pulling for the Colts and Saints, though it wouldn't bother me if the Bears won. The Pats.....eh, I like the Pats well enough, they're definitely not on my very long Do Not Like list, but it's time for the Colts.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 (edited) No kidding. Am I the only one tired of the Patriots? Yeah, yeah, Go Blue, but it's time for someone new to step onto the world's biggest stage. The Pats are on the fast track back with only the Colts in their way, and all I can sit here and do is pray for an upset. Sting 11 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 I'm struggling to contain thoughts like how the Ravens might have been our biggest hurdle, how it might be all downhill from here, and how this might be "our year." I'm being very cautiously optimistic. This is so big that I'm going to be a nervous wreck about this run until it's over. The Colts are my longest-term favorite team...I've been following them since I became old enough to know what football was....over 20 years of losing and frustration. If the Colts do this, it would be far and away a bigger deal for me than the Red Wings winning in 1997...it would be overwhelming...I would probably cry tears of joy. The Pats are on the fast track back with only the Colts in their way, and all I can sit here and do is pray for an upset. I really can't get over NE. Whatever they are doing over there is amazing. They lose players to injuires, and FA all the time. They have no true No. 1 WR, and their DBs/LB's are questionable, yet they keep winning. Manning, Dungy, and Harrison all deserve rings though. I guess I don't really care who wins. If CHI wins I know for fact I want the AFC winner to take it all.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted January 16, 2007 Instead of team planes and buses, the Colts should have arrived in Baltimore in moving vans. That would have really frosted the Baltimore faithful

What you may not realize is, they're the Colts, and they're playing the Patriots in the playoffs. I assure you, they are very much the underdog.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted January 21, 2007 Woot it is game day! I'm not a big NFL/Saints fan, I never thought I'd be this hyped up for a big NFL game, but I'm looking forward to the game against da Bears. Tickets to this game were anywhere from $400 to $2,300 a pop from what I've heard on the local radios down here. One of my cousins and her husband actually lucked out to get tickets around roughly $400 and are in Chicago right now. This city will explode if the Saints win. A lot of business are going MIA for the game then re-opening back up, even restaurants and bars. Me, I am watching the game in the comfort of my own home. Alone, by myself, in peace and quiet, without any crazy fans or friends and family constant screaming at the TV thank god. I'm a dull dud to watch a sports event with, I've learned to be reserved and quiet when watching even big games.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted January 21, 2007 Who the hell woulda thought we'd end up with the Colts and Pats again! I predicted the Pats to beat the Chargers but never in a million years did i think the f'n Colts would beat the Ravens! Im still in shock over that....not to mention it completely blew my playoff pool. Today's games seriously could go either way, but for the AFC im gonna have to stick with something i said to people 2 years ago...the combination of the 2 chokers Manning and Dungy will never win a Super Bowl together. So i'll just have to go with the Pats. In the NFC...i'll go with the Saints continuing on their path to being the NFL's Detroit Tigers....bad team rising up out of nowhere with a new coach winning their league but just falling short in the end. Oh and just thought id mention, i simulated next year's season in Madden and the Chargers went 16-0....then subsequently lost in the first round of the playoffs. I thought that was hilarious...apparently Marty ball loses in video games too
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted January 21, 2007 I rooting for everyone except the Bears. I'm still waiting for Grossman to blow a game
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 21, 2007 Amateur hour on Soldier Field in the first half... three first quarter fumbles by the Saints should have sank them, but the Bears playing like Keystone Kops with their red zone offense keeps NO alive.
