YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 (edited) Francois Beauchemin: According to one Duck fan, the 3rd best defenseman in the NHL, behind only Pronger and Niedermayer. puertoricanWingsfan 5 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 holy CRAP! what a nailbiter! that game was awesome. I know everyone and their little sister has already said it, but Dominic Hasek is the ultimate AntiDuck. It looked tonight like the opposite of the calgary series... it seemed like every game in the calgary series we were outshooting them nearly 2-1, but somehow they managed to stay in it. In this game, it seemed like we were getting outshot like crazy but still outscored them. *shrug* However the hell we get the win works for me!
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 You're treading VERY choppy waters asking that, my theory is he's an avs fan who hijacked in inactive users account and pops up just to bash Bertuzzi. Save yourself a lot of braincells and put him on ignore. Good point. This Draperfan guy only recently appeared again when the Wings got Bertuzzi, and he has yet to actually show the Wings any support at all, so I do believe your theory. Not that I'm trying to stick up for him, but bad bounces are a part of the game that make and break series. You have to be good to be lucky and lucky to be good. He looked like he was going to cry when the Wings went up 2-1. Perrys a ******* woman. I hope Bertuzzi nails his ass through the boards in Game 2.

grsbmd 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 So, Corey Perry... Pretty much the toughest player in the whole league. "Tell Samuelsson he's gonna get it. Pavel, tell Samuelsson he's going to get it. You're going to get it too Pavel." It reminded me so much of the Alltell commercial with the nerds trying to talk tough.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Just a little somethin' Maltby had 6 hits tonight leading both the Wings and Ducks. Lilja had 5 which was second most of both teams. OH HELL YES. Thought I'd share that little info. Speaking of Andreas, how great was he on the PK especially early on when he got done and blocked the shot like it was nothing. Heart and will, baby! Flip Check-You're ava rocks above all.

Offsides 21 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 Offsides, Would you consider this an official request from the Late Night Crew for a "No Draperfans Allowed" sig for those of us in the club? Regs, Jeff And give him the satisfaction of seeing his name in everyone's sigs? HELLZ NO! Also, I'm not a part of this club as I never ignore anyone. HC, did you see I called a win? I'm undefeated when I call that we will win!! GO team me!

If the guy could physically play like this all year, they'd call him the next Scott Stevens. Wasn't he the stand alone defenseman? I mean stay at home? What a transformation. adtthosa 5 Report post Posted May 12, 2007 I haven't read through any of this thread yet so a lot of the stuff you'll see here has likely already been mentioned many times. First off, Dominek Hasek. Unreal. He absolutely stole this game. How huge was the glove save on Penner? I LOVE YOU DOMINATOR. Zetterberg and Datsyuk were all over the ice tonight, they both had amazing games. I was honestly a bit skeptical that our top line would be able to generate offense against Pronger and Niedermayer, but boy did those two show up tonight. Hopefully we can expect more of the same in the rest of the series. Our PP looked great out there, even without Schnieds on the point. I thought Samuelsson had a great game at the point. PK was great as usual, I loved that huge block by Lilja in the first while on the PK. Bertuzzi looked pretty good out there tonight I thought, he used his body a lot more and he generated a couple scoring chances. There's still a lot of room for improvement though, but if he ever gets back into full form then watch out. We'll need some secondary scoring going forward in this series so hopefully Bertuzzi and Calder can get something going. All that aside now, great way to kick off the series. Reffing was brutal, but I'm glad we fought through it. Let's hope for a similar result on Sunday!

I was just thinking how funny it was that earlier in the season I could barely stand to look at him and ever since that fight, he has been a totally different player. It's nice to see him good for things other than breaking his stick and turn overs.
