Hasek is better than Osgood, at least at the present time.

If you are a better coach than Babcock, then you should be coaching in the NHL somewhere.

I seem to remember Ozzy letting in a crap goal from the blue line in the playoffs, or was it the red line? Either way, here are a couple of facts for you.

1) Hasek ALWAYS bounces back from bad games and brings a great game next time.

2) Probably because of #1, Hasek has never lost a playoff series in Detroit.

If he plays crappy on Sunday, feel free to flame me, otherwise...UP YOURS!

ps, I like Ozzy and I have nothing against him, I just know that Hasek is better right now.

OK, making up things, insinuating things, implying things... take your pick. Regardless, what was the point of questioning Hasek's respect for the league or the US? If he'd asked why Dom didn't take of his helmet, I would simply have said because of the straps and the way the helmet fits, he probably doesn't want to take the time to try and get the helmet back on in the crease before the puck drops. He'd get a delay of game if he took too long, most likely.

I'm the kind of person who doesn't like assumptions into people's character either, so I know, not asking the condemnatory question itself would have been the best road. I very much agree.

I haven't been around the forums too heavily the past couple days... so in all fairness I've been aware of the guy's questionable status on the forums (like with Matt's thread on him), but I haven't had the time to spot it myself here. And no, not at all! You don't upset me, Loo, far from that.

Merely this: the question and the response seemed - if assuming - then at least lacking the usual spirit I see out of bonafide trolls... and I could have seen many a good fan wondering it (in a non-"why is that ******* not taking his helmet off? way).

I'll probably get some time to research the guy over the weekend, I simply decided to give that question and his response the benefit of the doubt. I will agree that Hasek is the wings' best hope for a cup this season, but this wasn't a Vezina worthy season for dom by any means...

At best, I would put him at 5th in that race (behind Brodeur, Luongo, Kiprusoff, & Lundqvist)...possibly even lower (you could easily make a case for Turco, Giguere, Emery, Dipietro, Miller, Lehtonen being right there with Hasek...I'd put him in this group, with the 4 mentioned above 1 step above this group, at least for this season).

Um, no, I simply asked if he always does this. Far from a wings fan, havent paid attention to Hasek pregame even when I bet for or against the Wings this season, never watched the National Anthem. I live in Orange County and saw him with his lid on for the Anthem twice. Get it now?

I dunno about the Twinkies and grapes, thing, not sure where that rumor came from. But he's a become a health nut about his diet and exercise, since he's gotten older -- so I am not too sure he'd do that now.

I do know (reported by several sources last Fall) that when Kenny Holland called him over the summer to ask him to come back to Detroit, Dom was out riding his mountain bike in the country with friends. They had stopped to rest and were picking cherries off of a tree and eating them, when Kenny called with the surprise offer.

Dom said, hey, red cherries, Red Wings -- it's a sign! Seriously. yes, he's odd. That's what is so fun about him... there will never be another Dom.

I know lots more weird Dom stories, but I don't want to bore anybody.

i always loved being in the crease. i liked playing the puck but i never wanted to go out and play defense or forward. being in net was the most fun in the entire world to me.

Well, it does share the same problem as the position of soccer goalie: the best game for your team is one in which you see zero shots. Boring.
