All I did, was laugh and clap at the joke. In fact, I was fairly sure he was kidding. No way he thinks the Packers have the worst jerseys ever. So I took it as a joke.

I thought that "Smiley faces and s***" automatically meant that you were trying to talk smack. Not that you were joking. :P

Only difference there, is I actually thought it was legitimately funny. I stand behind every smiley face and applause icon. lol

I'm not so confident about the Bears game with them putting Griese in as starter. I wonder if playing so close to his old school will fire him up at all.

Oh well, at least he's under pressure. Maybe that will make him play worse rather than better. Of course, our pass defense is the worst in the league....

Is Calvin Johnson going to play?

Yeah but the Bears are really hurting right now. Brown and Dvoracek are out for the year, both their starting CBs (Tillman and Vasher) are going to miss the game, Archuleta is playing with a broken hand, and Lance Briggs is probably not going to play either. The Lions shouldn't have any problems throwing the ball on them, given that they don't have any of their starting 4 healthy. And if the Lions can put up 21-28 points, there's no way the Bears are going to be able to keep up with that.

I've got every confidence that the Lions will sent the Bears to 1-3 this week. They were playing bad enough before their entire defense got hurt....

Y'know something, I know the Lions are 2-1, haven't actually beaten anyone impressive, and looked exactly like the Lions we all know in Philly. But I've decided to start guzzling the Kool-Aid now before it's all gone. I keep reading about how Marinelli's cleared the locker room of all the bad-attitude nonbelievers and how Kitna's really made the team "his" team, and just today I read in an ESPN The Mag article on Kitna how there were guys last year on the sidelines openly mocking the effort from those who still cared. (Dre Bly, perhaps? Marcus Bell? BMW?) Actually was kind of shocked to hear that. With the whole team now on the same page, and actually believing in their quarterback unlike when Joey was here, and the quarterback returning the faith to his team unlike Joey, and guys like Cory Redding stepping up to lead, I think the extra effort alone is worth an extra four wins this year over last year. I swore up and down I wouldn't get sucked in by any team run by Matt Millen, but maybe this team isn't being run by Millen any more.

Is that article online? I can't believe there could be an organization in which players are openly mocking their teammates effort. At least without them getting smacked hard for their indifference.

Right here:

ESPN article

Late last season, a group of disgruntled players on the Detroit sideline mocked teammates who were still trying. Kitna responded in the season finale against Dallas by throwing 4 TD passes to thwart the Cowboys' hopes for the NFC East title. Many Lions say that's when it clicked for them.

Mostly it's an article about Kitna and his religion, and how he's taken over leadership of the team.

Usually when we play Chicago in the early part of the season, we lose, badly. The season then spirals out-of-control, and we pretty much don't win again for a long time.

I see tomorrow being no different. It's ridiculous to imagine this team actually having 3 wins before October, because it hasn't been done in nearly 7 years.

WHAT A WIN!!! Restore the RRRROOOOOAAAARRRR!!! Not only did the offense look good, but our D actually looked reliable for once(for the most part). This was such a huge win. Not only to be 3-1, but to beat another division opponent. Who would have thought that the Packers and Lions would be atop the division at this point? This should build the Lions confidence up even more against a so-so Redskins squad next week. LETS GO LIONS!!!

34 points in the 4th quarter? Big win boys!!!

I'm still in shock that we won. I can't believe we scored that many against Chicago. Kitna's numbers looked pretty darn good. He had a rating of 137.3. Not too shabby. I really didn't think we'd win. It seemed like the refs were trying to give Chicago the win. I thought they were terrible today.
