I am still not sold on our O-line... backus is just terrible and jon did get roughed up a bunch again today. once we get a solid O-line, then this team will be good

Backus is the best lineman, not the worst. I'm still waiting for Raiola to earn his money, but then again I haven't seen any Lions games yet this year, so maybe he's improved and I haven't noticed.

drink the kool-aid like everyone else. Yes this team is not the Pats or Colts but who is. This team is winning is on pace to win 10-12 wins. I will take it after the years of frustration. Matt Millen is a freakin genuis.

As far as the Bears putting up 30, that may be a stretch, but they're averaging 26 points a game in the four that Griese's started (including 27 at Ford Field) and the Lions have been HORRIBLE on the road. Our last two road games the opposition outscored us 90-24. Add in that it's a divisional game and they already know what to expect from Detroit, and I can't see it being anything but ugly.

After seeing how that game turned out, I shall now proceed to predict the rest of the Lions' season:

Broncos 47, Lions 0

Lions 6, Cardinals 27

Giants 38, Lions 0

Packers 60, Lions 2

Vikings 14, Lions 3

Cowboys 45, Lions 9

Chargers 58, Lions 7 (first touchdown since Chicago)

Kansas City 10, Lions 0

Packers 88, Lions -2 (don't ask me to explain that one, it's complicated).

Realistically though, I'd say it's possible for the Lions to win the Denver, Arizona, first Packers, Vikings and Chiefs games, but they'll probably lose at least one or two of them. Either way, if they pull off three more wins they'll have a .500 season, and that's nothing to complain about.

The Arizona game definitely scares me, if Boldin and Fitzgerald are both in the lineup i cant really see us taking that one. But at home against Denver and the G-men are so winnable i'll be extremely confident going in. That would make us 7-3 going into Thanksgiving.

Not so fast, my friend. Giants D v. Lions = Sack party 2007.

Eli Manning vs Lions D = Turnover parade

Sure Kitna will probably get sacked a bunch, but Eli has always been very turnover prone and thats what the success of our D hinges on. I expect a sloppy 14-10 type game with the Lions on top.

Even if Detroit losses the rest of the games I'll always remember Kitna coming back from a concussion and leading the game winning drive in OT against Minnesota by laying his body out for the first down. By the way anybody got a picture of that?

I can see that happening. Either way, it would be pretty impressive for the Lions to be competitive with that bunch. I could see the Giants reaching the Super Bowl if they play their cards right.

On another note, I wonder how many more Lions wins it will take before they get a game on national TV!

Well, there's Thanksgiving. To answer your question, I'd say 10 - what it should take to get to the playoffs where all games are on national TV. I'm pretty sure the regular season national TV schedule is set. But next year, even if the Lions go 8-8, they should at least earn themselves a Monday night game.

Here's a blurb from MLive regarding the TV implications:

Two games "frozen": The Fox network has "frozen" two Lions games this season, meaning they can't be moved to the NBC Sunday night game. Both Fox and CBS are allowed to freeze one game per week -- NBC then has the option during their "flex" scheduling to move one of the other games to Sunday night.

The two games that won't be moved are the Lions game against the Giants (the Sunday before Thanksgiving) and the Lions game against the San Diego Chargers on Dec. 16.

There has been some rumbling that Detroit's final game of the regular season -- in Lambeau Field and quite possibly the final regular season game for quarterback Brett Favre -- might be moved to Sunday night. The Lions haven't heard anything and said it's far too early for anything to happen. NBC doesn't have to make a final decision until the Monday before the final Sunday because then they'll know the best matchups with playoff implications.

So I guess I'm wrong about the national TV schedule being set already. Forgot about the crazy new flex scheduling for this year. But it's neat that Fox saw two Lions matchups as ones they didn't want to lose. The annoying thing would be if the game at Lambeau were moved to nighttime. It's bad enough the league makes us play in Green Bay in December every year. At night would just make it that much colder.

That one could have huge implications if the Lions and Pack stay close in the standings, but I still can't see that happening.

Check out the Halloween party picture of Kitna dressed up like a naked guy with a Lions visor (hmmm.... sounds familiar) next to his wife (a Wendy's employee).

Remember how I said Kitna was my second-favorite Lions QB behind Scott Mitchell and that if he did something totally awesome he would leapfrog ahead to #1?

Done. Mitchell is beat at his own game. I didn't think anything could top the Big Buck costume that Mitchell wore at a team Halloween party one year (pillow under the gut, antlers on the head, bullseye on the back and a huge cigar) but that did it.

Agreed, he's now #1! OMG! LMAO! The Big Buck was great but he's got nothin' on that.

And here i thought Jon Kitna would probably make a good Kane from WWE for Halloween...what do i know!

Article on Dre Bly

It would be awesome if the first play is a play action to a streaking Roy one on one verses Bly. Farve exposed his punk ass twice monday. Denver is under .500 so I'm sure Dre has given up by now. I hope James Hall is having fun with the winless Rams too. That's a bunch of crap, making fun of young players who dont want to give up.

Twice? Which play are you referring to? He exposed him on the OT winner, but the first biggie was against Champ Bailey.

The "lets go Lions!" chant after Lewis scored (which was overturned) gave me chills!

Isn't it crazy?

I'm waiting for the locust and the Detroit River to turn to blood!

I think he was too tired to do anything after that... he is a professional athlete and gets winded after a 60 yard scamper

But that stiff-arm at the 5 on Selvin Young totally PWNED.
