Exactly what I'm wondering. Their playing Jones the whole game, and it's clear as day he isn't getting done, much like the rest of the team.

Terrible game. We shouldn't have lost to the Giants. They are a horribly overated team (Lou, I know you changed your thoughts, but I'm staying put), and the Lions failed to capitalize all game long. It's really pathetic when Jason Hanson is the teams best player. Not taking anything away from him, because he is a great kicker, but the kicker should not be the guy scoring the majority of points for the team. The offense needs to start getting things done. That means not dropping passes all the time.

One other big irk with me today was the offensive line. How many times did Kitna get sacked today? I counted at least 5, and there was probably more. I don't know what was going through their heads, but they looked terrible today. Guys were getting by them left and right.

I knew this season was too good to be true. Yes, we are still above .500, but it's entirely possible the Lions lose every game for the rest of the season, and finish at 6-10. They have a history of collapsing big time on the Thanksgiving game, so it wouldn't surprise me if that does happen again this year.

Thursday's game will a tough challenge for sure. The Lions always struggle against Green Bay.

From what I understand the Lions don't exactly have the strongest O-Line in the league. Whether or not you think the Giants are a solid team its hard to argue that their D-Line isn't well above average, especially their ends. Pinning Umenyiora and Strahan up against a mediocre line doesn't usually equate to a lot of success.

I'm not knocking the Lions by any means, just giving probable cause for the sack total yesterday.

If the Lions don't sneak by the Packers on Thanksgiving, this season is officially OVER.

If we loose to the packers on thursday consider our season over and our team morale in the s***ter. 7-9 is what we got to look forward to. and another Mid teen draft pick at that.

If we win, we will be 7-4 and all we have to do is go 3-2 the rest of the way, which shouldnt be to hard.

Our main problem is our blocking. and the packers Biamila and Kapman are superb at rushing the pacer. On paper they have a great defence. If it means leaving a TE/RB to block. and only having a 3 wide set. so be it. if it means RUNNING THE BALL to set up the pass a little bit more. SO BE IT. when we are a little more balanced. we are alot more dangerous then trying to get a 20 yard grab 1/3 times..

I'am not a martz doubter, But i do got some concerns with why we arnt running the ball atleast 15-20 times a game to keep the other team from just TEEING off on us.

He did the same thing in St. Louis. Passed the ball like crazy and never ran the ball, despite having a hall of fame running back in Marshall Faulk.

I can understand that reasoning, but statistically the Packers are a better Rushing Defense than the Cardinals or the Giants. Obviously it makes sense to stick with a balanced rushing game to help your big guns (Johnson and Williams) do their thing, but if I were the Lions, I would attack Harris like crazy, throw short dumps to Campbell or get play action going with Fitzsimmons leading the way.

Here's my reasoning: While Woodsen and Harris are considered one of the top CB tandem's in the league, I feel Harris definitely the weaker of the two. Couple that with the talent of the Lions receiving core and you can expect to see atleast a few big plays and a couple pass interference's. With Campbell, those short dumps to the outside will prove to be efficient in the form of 4-6 yard gains. Now, if you want to rush the ball, the best thing you can do is run play-action pass to get things rolling. The Packers have an extremely balanced Defense from top to bottom, and the best to way to get the Lions struggling rush game going would be to get the linebackers on their heels. This isn't meant a shot by any means, but not many teams in the NFL are going to respect the Lions rushing game right now, and running play-action pass to Jones/Duckett will force the Packers linebackers on their heels (due to being froze, and then dropping back before a short dump by Kitna). Then ultimately, the running game should open up a little bit, along with the passing game.

Obviously I want the Packers to destroy the Lions, but if the Lions are to win those are my keys to the game. If these things happen the Lions have a great shot at the game, given that they don't give up 20+ points to the Packers offense.

Maybe the coaching staff should dole out bounties to any defensive player that can injure Favre.

And while we're speaking about him, I know Mississippi isn't exactly known for its education system but shouldn't that moron know how to spell his own last name?

He did the same thing in St. Louis. Passed the ball like crazy and never ran the ball, despite having a hall of fame running back in Marshall Faulk.

He worked in St Louis.. It's not working here. When he put his EGO aside and decided to run a lil more after some public scrutiny his offence worked alot better. His offence might work well with Warner/Bulger But Kitna isnt a martz QB, Martz has the leadership and toughness not the accuracy or arm power or pocket awareness. Next year, we need Stanton to step up and show that he is our new qb or we are destned for anotehr lack luster season with kitna under helm.

This years offseason will make or break our team for years to come. Offseason we need to stop signing DEPTH offensive lineman and get a solid anchor for the Tackle Position. and a good replacement for Woody. Scott and Peterman are coming around but im not banking on them to be studs.

Sign- Faneca for our LG. Move Mulitalo to RG.

Sign Either Flozell Adams - Jordon Gross - Kwame Harris, Plug them into RT. and continue to groom Peterman andScott.

In later rounds in the draft we should snag a good developmental, RB and TE for the offence. A Elusive Speedster at RB and either a Blocking TE or a Big Play TE.

Earlier rounds we need to draft DE/LB/CB. This year LB's are pretty DEEP and CB we can find a good one in the 2nd. DE is top heavy. so we'll probaly end up with another developmental DE like 5-0 was.

Overall, this offseason is make or break for us. we have holes. our team held up there end of the bargain this year, but role players turned starters arent going to work all yead.

:nonono: I'm not going to even dignify this post.

Best of luck to your Lions tomorrow. It should be a great game.

Heart 34-27 Lions

(realistic pick...) 31-16 Packers

At this moment, i think we're going to lose...im pretty sure....but theres still that Lions part of me fhat is nagging me not to go against the 10-6! And if they lose this one....they are NOT going 10-6. So...ugh...i dont know! Im going to hold on to faith for this one last game...GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we win this game, no matter what happens the rest of the way this will make my year.

The only positive to take away from all this is after hearing Katharine McPhee's horrible, screachy anthem and the Goo Goo Dolls halftime show, Im thinking i might be good enough to launch a music career.

Horrible game so far.

Lions almost made it interesting at the end, once Calvin Johnson woke his ass up and starting catching passes. He was brutal in the 1st half.

Still, it was basically the same old Lions, once again. This team is terrible among so many standards. Considering we finish the season playing Minnesota, Dallas, San Diego, KC, and Green Bay again, this team is going to go 6-10 for sure. They might beat Minnesota, but that's doubtful.

Oh well. Might as well start building for next year.

This team is playing with no heart.

WE WANT SEVEN!

I want the seventh pick!

Here's hoping for a 6-10 season. :(

Still don't like or turnstiles... I mean tackles. Fixing that will help out the offense quite a bit...

On defense... secondary upgrades are needed.

Overall like the team... small, but swarms to the ball.

Lets loose out, end up 6-10.

and snag Lauranitis in the draft.

We dont need to be drafting a linebacker in the first round. We already have Ernie Sims, and Boss Bailey looks good in spots and is finally staying healthy. Granted Paris Lenon should be replaced, but overall mainly because of Sims its a decent group. Go with the best tackle or the best corner available. And in the next round, take the other one!

Our CB situation. you dont need superstars, you need people who can play the run and have dece zone and man coverage skills.. you can find those in the later rounds.

Lenon has been solid. alot better then the inconsistent Bailey. Baily will over run ever play. Take horrid angles and wont wrap up a tackle if his life depended on it. he is a CB in a LB's body. At the end of the year, i would be surprised if we kept baily and lehman since its the end of there contract..

James Lauranitis, is a freak. great LB skills and has every neccesity needed to be a great Tampa 2 Linebacker.. Our front 4 is solid. but we could use a pass rusher.. Our lb's are probaly the worst in the NFL as a whole.. DB's we got 1 good saftey and 2 safteys who are young and alot of potential to be good in Bullocks/Alexander. CB's we got Nando,Smith,Wilson,Fisher.. who arnt stellar but they get the job done. for the most part other than the Wash/Phili game, there was no big plays only the under stuff.. and with good linebackers who have speed and coverage skills who are great tacklers, they eliminates that also for the most part..

Our LB Crew, Rivals our OL crew for worst Crew in the NFL.

A starting Tampa 2 CB - Can be found deeper in the draft.

A OT in the first is far fetched, sicne we cant ditch Backus for like 3-4 years without it effecting our cap horribly. Moving him to RT isnt an option either. cuz most DE's that play against the RT are good Bull Rushers and would just push Backus and his small frame right into kitna..

1 - Laurinitis MLB

2 - Crable SLB

3 - Lowery CB

4 - Krause OG

5 - Best DB Available

6 - Best Return Man Available

7 - TE|DE|OL|RB

Why would we take 2 LB's the first two rounds? Last year we could have drafted Puzlunsy (who I wanted bad), or David Harris...instead we took Stanton. I'm not saying you're wrong, but when the Lions pass on two 1st round caliber LB's in the 2nd round I can't see them all of sudden wanting one now.

My God. The Lions are gonna get such an insane beating on sunday. I think the goal here should be to just keep it respectable looking. Even if we can get within 10 points of Dallas, that would be good. As long as we dont get completely blown out by em.
