All-star voting

Recommended Posts

I read in this mornings paper that we could start voting for the all-star game. It said Hank, Hasek, Dats., Lidstrom, and Rafalski are on the ballot on NHL.com but I couldn't find it. Where do I go, help?!? .

here you go.

voting starts on Tuesday @ NHL.com

VOTE FOR WINGS OF YOUR CHOICE

NHL All-Star Game voting opens at NHL.com to pick the starting lineup for the Jan. 27 game in Atlanta. Five of your Detroit Red Wings are on the ballot -- Dominik Hasek, Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski, Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk -- and you can write in more if you like. Voting ends Jan. 2, and you may vote often.

Does anyone else think the NHL did a poor job picking candidates?

This year's theme shouldn't be "Vote for Rory." It should be "Vote for Patrick Kane, Martin Gerber, Tim Thomas, and other worthy players who were left off the ballot."

They must have picked this before the season started and then added on a few players who were doing well. i.e. Modano should not be on the ballot...

In terms of the ballot, you have to remember that it was probably already determined before the season started (or earlier in the year). Guys who have played great since last February is really who you should be looking at.

I wouldn't worry too much about the voting anyway. Guys who deserve to be there based on their play this season (Kane maybe) will likely get selected. Too early to tell though.

I don't know if I like that voting format much, with the drop down menus for players. Zetterberg is the last forward and you have to scroll down, obviously to find his name. Advantage to players with names in the first half of the alphabet?

I haven't voted yet, kinda worried about the spam that mandatory information about name, email, birthdate, etc., could generate. I haven't read the disclaimers.

Ok I know about the link up above but I am feeling stupid in not being able to find it on NHL.com homepage. Is it hidden somewhere?

Ozzie has my vote !!

Yep. I doubt he'll get in for voting anyway, as I think the votes are only for the starting lineup and the coach picks the team, so that the players who are playing best can get in the game. So hopefully if he keeps it up he'll end up in no matter what.
