I just want to say probably any goalie would allow 3+ goals with the D we have right now. The D left Ozzie high and dry on several occasions and Ozzie made several great saves. If Lilypad doesn't get the penalty hat trick in the 3rd, Ozzie probably ends up with the win. Plus, I think letting 1/4 shots in a shootout is going to give a great shot to win. I don't want to ignite a goalie war, but please give Ozzie some credit

Don't worry, Ozzie gets credit from people who appreciate him and understand the situation this team is currently in.

There always be some Lindsay Lohans bitchin' about it though... it's never good enough.

i don't know if anyone already said this, but first to 90! that's something.

i'm not thrilled with that only cause if it weren't for this horrible stretch the past month we'd have over 100 pts easily. that would be something.

Nobody can blame this loss on Lilja. I think he did a good job last night. Delay of Game penalties are dumb. Most of them are unintentional and shouldn't be called.

But we had that game won...which is a major improvement from our lately usual trailing 4-1 at the end.

Next game we'll have Stuart...maybe Kronwall and Rafs...we're gonna start getting back to our winning ways pretty soon. =)

Ozzie did great, especially with the team in the state that it is right now.

And I am sure we will all remember that fact on Friday night, too, when/if Dom gets hung out to dry by the same team and same D.

Right?

Delay of Game penalties are dumb.

Heck, people here have no right to whine. This was just one regular season game :P Just imagine how Shark fans felt, during Game 4 of the second round last spring. If I recall correctly, the Wings capitalized on that penalty big time, to even up the series.

People don't remember it for Ozzie, they won't remember it for Dom either.

Meech played best game of this season. I am not totally satisfied with him yet but he was our best D man tonight.

Few of our players are starting to gear up towards to playoff so I thought it was nice to see but I think we have ways to go before we get same fire that driven our team begining of the season.

I thought so too. I only saw the highlights but judging by them he had a stellar game. He seems to have quite a bit of offensive upside to go with his defensive play.

I don't care if they help us or hurt us. They're dumb penalties.

What a heartbreaker. We deserved the W, in my opinion. I knew what would happen if we went to a shootout, though. Quite an entertaining third period, but to no avail.

One point seems like soooo much less than 2 points and the W to me after watching that game.

Meech played over 27 minutes last night, second only to Lebda.

The fact that he didn't look terrible out there or get burned on a regular basis speaks volumes about the kid considering he played about 13 minutes more than he typically would.

Hey guys,

I was at the game tonight. Fun to watch actually, good to see the boys come from behind and take the lead - sad they couldn't finish it off. But yeah, I got my moneys worth tonight with the OT and SO. The guys from GR played well IMO, I was especially impressed with Meech and Ericsson, and Zetterberg (despite not getting any PTS) and Pavel all looked pretty good tonight. They were giving the Oiler fans fits.

This game might have been another loss, but its a step in the right direction - the new young D are really starting to look a lot better. Gene Principe interviewed Yzerman during the break, and Steve made it clear that the Wings are not panicking, in fact they are using this as a good opportunity to see some of these young guys, and they are pretty excited about it. Yzerman kind of had a calming effect in that sense.

Lidstrom, Rafalski, Chelios, Kronwall, and Cleary will be the best post-tradeline aquisitions ever.

Lets not freak out!

That's impressive. :) I hope he remains in the lineup after everyone comes back (doubt it though :( ).

Meech loves to jump in the rush and he's usually fast enough to get back. I think if he's paired with a stay at home defenseman he'll be a great addition.

Lilja had not been impressing me all game and that penalty at the end was the icing on the cake. When you are up a goal you don't need to take chances like that.

Also, Stafford and Sammy sucked. When will Sammy learn to wait until a shooting lane is open?

I believe the boys are improving all things considered. Meech was great! Flip upped his game! You can't ask for anything more from the Euro twins. Overall, this is a step in the right direction...too bad the bounces didn't go our way...that's hockey! Lilja should be sent to GR..... I don't expect him to be here next year!

Although we are in a slump this is good experience for these young guys that would usually get >13 or even no minutes. I really like Meech he jumps in the play alot and i havent seen him get caught so he is covering both aspects of his game.
