Month of March. Many Magic Moments:

Meech, Malts, and Mikael score (wish we'd have kept Matt, just for today).

Wings 3; Sabers not-so-3.

Lots of alliteration...

I kid you not, i used to like his announcing so much that it was a significant reason why the Sabres became my #2 favorite team in the 90's! An ANNOUNCER!!

I remember hearing when the league told Jeanerette to stop getting so excited during his fight calls...how pathetic!

Rob Ray fights and Jeanerette calling it is too good to stop. F'ing NHL.

Anyways, must win tonight.

I'll be in Sec. 309 wearing a New Zetterburg Jersey with my wife wearing an "old school" Shanny Jersey. Maybe I'll see some of you fine folks out at a bar on Chippewa street before the game.

Go Wings!!

If your jersey really says "Zetterburg," I'd ask for a refund.

by Ansar Khan

Saturday March 01, 2008, 4:53 PM

Update from practice: Coach Mike Babcock said Dominik Hasek will start Sunday's game in Buffalo. Defenseman Brian Rafalski said he should be able to return Wednesday against St. Louis.

I so called that one. I have to go rub it in Shups face :shifty:

come on Wings!!! start off March with a bang!!!!

Draper said himself, captain Nicklas Lidstrom, Chris Chelios and Dallas Drake are among the players who've spoken out. One thing being stressed is they can't use injuries to their two best defensemen, Lidstrom and Brian Rafalski, as an excuse.

"Today, again, it was said we need to start winning without these guys," goaltender Dominik Hasek said. "Maybe without these players we are not the best team in the NHL, but we can still be much better than we are right now. There is no panicking, but there is big disappointment in the way we played. I don't want to say it's a wake-up call, but it's a little bit emergency and we need to win without four or five top players."

The Wings know what they need to do. They'll turn it around.

I AM SO PUMPED FOR TONIGHT AS IF IT'S A PLAYOFF GAME.

It's a new month. Here's to GREAT things happening for the Wings. :beerbuddy:

GO LILS! GO DATSYUK! GO MEECH! GO DRAKE! GO MALTS! GO DOWNEY! GO LEBS! GO STEWIE! GO HUDS! GO OZZIE! GO DRAPES! GO SAMMY! GO DOM! GO HANK! GO FLIP! GO KRONNIC! GO KOPAY! GO MULE! GO HOMER!

LETS GO WINGS!!!!!

That must have been after the Sabres - Senators brawl last year, because he sure didn't tone it down when Biron and Emery went at it!

I love Jeanerette. He makes the games so exiting. I would love to see his reaction if the Sabres ever do win a Stanley Cup, becaue it would surely be a moment in history! :D

I remember hearing that quite a few years back, so maybe they just decided to let him loose or he stopped giving a s***!

I don't see why they would boo Dom after everything he's done for their city.

Just read a good article here

Anyway, I forgot to say in my last post:

GO WINGS!

GO DOM!

Sabres fans were furious when he left for Detroit (technically traded) and won a Cup that season - something he never did with them (although he did single handedly get them to the SCFs). It's just jealousy I guess.

Dom left Buffalo for the same reason Miller probably will shortly... management's refusal to get the players in front of him, needed to win a Cup. With the cap, they've really got problems doing that in Buffalo. For the most part, Sabres fans understand why Hasek left and appreciate what he did for the franchise. I sure can't blame them if they are unhappy about him leaving, but they do seem to understand why.

Such understanding won't stop them from hoping Dom gets shelled, however! ...which he will, if the Wings skate like zombies and don't score again today. Buffalo will be all over Hasek; our guys need to do the same to the Sabres' goalie, and SHOOT THE PUCK!

No offense = no win tonight.

Just pointing out the obvious....

That's too bad. I didn't realize they booed him.

I'm not sure how I'd feel if I were a Sabres fan. I'd probably be a little bitter he left too, because their chances were obviously better with him in net. But I'd also be happy Dom finally won a Cup after getting so close and playing at a high level for so long.

If the boys need any motivation, then surely this headline in NHL.com will inspire them;

"Slumping Red Wings limp to another loss in worst stretch in nearly 20 years"

Come on guys lets blow those offence cobwebs away by getting a win with a few goals to boot!!
