chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Morrow doesn't scare me at all. He's 1 player that is playing great but one player isn't going to beat the Wings. He has been playing with alot of energy and throwing his body around but in my opinion, he's playing over his head. The guy has been in the league of 7-8 years and up until last month has done very little. 1 good series does not a great player make. While he's busy taking runs at out guys, we will be skating around him and putting the puck in the net. Last year everybody was worried about Joe Thorton. Remember how that worked out. kylee 727 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 i think morrow is a very good player, but you said it best. no one player will take out an entire team in a series. key for the Wings in the series to keep up their puck possession, crisp passing, and ability to break the trap the Stars will play on defense. FinWing 26 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I think Morrow is a very good playoff player and would love to have him on the Red Wings. At the same time, I'm sure our defense has plenty enough to handle him. Hopefully Kronner and Stuart rattle him well a couple of times!
Nero 20 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Morrow who? I'm not worried about Dallas. If Detroit keeps playing like they have been, they won't be stopped.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 yes, he scares me. if he scores the single goal which decides the game he is this single player able to beat the Wings. and he showed plenty of good moves and luck this postseason. if this continues there's every reason to be concerned about him and no, he didn't appear on NHL map yesterday. he's been a good player for a number of years, only has some more luck and exposure recently
Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 you're worried about morrow? If thats the case, than Dallas should be worried about Franzen.....who has been on a bigger tear than Morrow, and has a better chance of keping up the pace!
LionsAndRedwingsAndPistonsOhMy 3 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I may be crazy, but I had been hoping for Dallas since our series ended. I respect the Stars, they have quality players and a good team, I just don't think they can match up to us nearly well enough to take more than 2 games from us. I'm just flat out feeling the Cup, and have been since we started the playoffs. I hope I'm not wrong!
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I was afraid of TooToo also... he had our number the first few games

Can't wait to see you guys proved wrong. He's a force. He may not score a goal, or have a hit(unlikely), but him on the bench/ice makes us a better team. And if you arent affraid of a player that can do that(lidstrom) you're crazy.

Morrow is good, i just dont think the wings should be affraid of him. Fact is, the whole team has been playing out of its mind, even Turco has been clutch which is unlike him in the playoffs haha. Im not scared of just one guy, i think the whole team is scary. They had two great series wins, taking out two strong teams. Underdogs in both in many books. Im glad we are playing the stars, they are one of my favorite teams, and i think its going to be a great series. As much as we should be scared of morrow and the stars, dallas should be terrified of the wings, who have been smelling the cup all year. Dont forget, all the "experts" were calling us the underdogs in both of our series.....

Oh yeah, i forgot, im sure Morrow is a great person, and i love watching him as a player, but man i just cant beleive he could take the C from Modano....i hate him just a little bit for that! Although the team has ran smoothly since the change, i still think Modano leads that team along with Morrow...
Shaman 713 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Im not afraid, Lids and Rafi can shut him down easy as you please, the best way to keep a hot player off the boards is to keep the puck off his stick, and, those 2 can do it.
Vincanni 1 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Just for the record the most dangerous players against us so far this post season are far from top-liners. Guys like Tootoo and Laperriere were the closest thing we had to banes in our last couple series. Morrow is a good quality player with a wise array of skills but aside from chipping in he's not going to be a game breaker. If the Stars want to win they'll do it as a team, no single star player is going to single handedly show up the best defensive team in the league. Morrow worries me some on the powerplay as we'll have a hard time shutting him down short a man, but for some crazy reason and looking into the recent past as an example, I think Ott is going to be huge for the Stars and arguably their best player from the series. I just have a hunch.
Coolio Mendez 7 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Im sure Lidstrom and Rafalski can handle Morrow. Lidstrom frustated the hell out of Iginla last post season, and you can't even compare Iginla to a Morrow.
DallasStars 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 (edited) I wouldn't be shocked to see that, either. Edited May 8, 2008 by DallasStars

I think Morrow is like Arnott - his presence is felt sometimes... But when Dats and Zet are on the roll it does not matter.
fastballspecial 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 If: the Wings should be scared of Morrow. Then: the Stars should be scared of Franzen, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Osgood, Clearly and, hell... even Sammy.
savaking72 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Why do we have to fear all of these players? No one fears us? We have been making examples out of the guys everyone says we should fear. Morrow is the next example.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I do fear him. But he's all I fear. I bet Morrow will score most if not all of Dallas' points against us. But we will win the series.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I hope Morrow fears Lilja, because when those fists start flying, Morrow better duck and cover, or else face the risk of being paralyzed.
UKWING 8 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 (edited) he is definitely the one player on the stars that i am the most worried about. he has been immense in the playoffs so far - he leads the stars in hits and goals. a lot of those goals were big goals too - he has been the definition of clutch. EDIT - i think i heard someone say that he leads the whole nhl in playoff hits with 66? Edited May 8, 2008 by UKWING
Donaldjr2448 43 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 Sure we should fear Morrow! If we stay out of the penalty box, we won't have to worry about it. The Ducks and the Sharks couldn't do it, and a majority of the goals Dallas scored we on the power play and Morrow in front of the net. If we stay diciplined, then I think we could beat these guys, if not we'll be with Anaheim, and SanJose!
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 We should be concerned of Morrow. He's a helluva player. And people saying they aren't worried about him are kidding themselves I think.
KocursRightHand 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I do fear him. But he's all I fear. I bet Morrow will score most if not all of Dallas' points against us.
