The pens have awoken a beast. Game 6 will be over in the first.

That is all and good night and good luck

I'm afraid that we may have awoken a beast.

If the Wings win this series, it'll be a huge testament to their character, because right now I don't see how they can mentally bounce back from this. This isn't like losing game 5 to Dallas. This is way more serious and tragic.

I might just move to detroit for a couple weeks and take a little vacation.

You might be the only person to ever vacation in Detroit.

Regardless, you won't need to since the Wings will win next game.

I like the word, "Regardless."

Officials are part of live play. The only thing that can't happen is a puck directly off of them into the net. It sucks, but that's the way it is.

Also in the last 90 seconds or so of regulation when the Wings went for a dump in, it hit the linesman and didn't go deep. Who knows what would have happened if the dump-in had gone.

The rule is, if a puck hits an official and it directly results in a goal, it should be blown dead. The linesman, I dont know about. But the play should've been disallowed, he's disallowed enough of ours under bogus rules, and then to do that, I just cant stand having games being decided like that.

Yes the Penguins won, but they got help. This game was Detroits to lose, and they did. I expect a much better effort on Wedsneday.

You know, I'm for free speech and all, but I've never been able to wrap my head around the logic of posting on the board of the opposing team just for the sake of causing trouble.

Isn't it more fun to post with fellow fans then flaming with fans of your rivals?

Im pretty drained right now, but you guys gotta remember it was game 5, not game 7. Wings still have two chances left. Get off the computer go to bed, get it off your mind and get ready for game 6.

The 1st period killed us that is all, us wings fans are use to seeing them lose these types of games. Im sure they will come out with vengeance game 6.

Good night everyone, keep the faith.

Good post that kind of helped me a bit I really dont feel like sleeping right now or going to work tomorrow this sucks.

Ciggy?

I'm thinking about taking a speedball so that I don't have to ever watch a game again.

Hey to each his own, I'm sure the combo of heroin and cocaine or other thing like opiates or amphetamines would do a damn good job haha.

thing i really gonna piss me off is all the blues fans around here, that are gonna bust my balls about us being so close and "blowing" it, I might just move to detroit for a couple weeks and take a little vacation.

at this point, whatdja blow? Blues fans have a messed up vision of what's blowing it, especially from a perspective where you're up 3-1 in the SCF.

they still have an NHL team out in St. Louis? forgot about that.

How is it more serious and tragic? Losing's losing, no matter what round it is.

We weathered the storm the best we could, and had many a chance to win this battle. What is done is done though, Now we must plan forward, and drive our spears into the enemies heart on their own ground. If we wish to raise our flag and the world. The victors in war do what must be done, when it needs to be done. Make no excuse, and accept the past, learn what can be taken from a defeat, for even in a lost battle there are lessons to be learned for the next. Make no excuses, and next time you take the field, erase the past from the memory of all errors with victory.

We will win.

Our players did not play very smart in the OT's, because the goals that we scored in regulation were mostly fluke shots off fortunate bounces.

Yet, in the OT's, we constantly tried to make pretty plays and do something fancy. Once again, our aim sucks ass, and Sammy was leading the charge. He couldn't hit water from a boat tonight.

Yeah but directly results in a goal means off the official and into the net. It sucks balls that it went down like that, and I know all about reaching for reasons why we should get a do-over, but it was legit.

Another good sign is that Turco had the game of his life in Game 5 too, as did Fleury. Both were phenomal. And then both guys went back to mediocrity in Game 6.

It just really hurts that Pittsburgh DOUBLE their goals scored in this series in ONE FRICKIN NIGHT.

Since halfway through the 3rd when the fans at the Joe were chanting "we want the cup" i was screaming at the TV (ok, i'm a schizo) "nooooooooooooo, we want a GOAL". In hindsight, maybe I'm not so crazy.

While I agree the wings loss was tragic, we outplayed them, we are the better team, and now we are pissed off.

Pittsburgh is not in the same leauge as us. We will win in game 6 maybe it goes to 7 whatever i still like our chacnes. Remeber we are still up in the series.....

scored on a pulled goalie to extend a cup final series when the other team was on the verge of clinching

Read on another forum that this is the latest a team has scored a tying goal to avoid elimination. Don't know if it's accurate.

Helluva game tonight. It's a massive case of blue balls to be that close to winning it all and have it not happen, but a great, great hockey game nonetheless. We'll get em in six.

I still can't believe Sammy shot that puck wide by 30 feet....you almost have to try to miss that badly.

Ah well, they scored as many tonight as they had the rest of the series combined. Ozzie will put up the wall in Game 6.

Are you serious?

We were 34 seconds away from winning a Cup. The game 5 in Dallas was one we never deserved to win, and winning that series was only academic.

At this point, the series can go either way, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least bit if the Pens won. It should have never come to that, because we had the Cup in the bank.

Ridiculously dumb stat of the night:

Since the sweep at the hands of Babs' Mighty Ducks in 2003, every single playoff series we've played has gone six games, with the exception of the sweep of the Avs.

2004:

Nashville, W in 6

Calgary, L in 6

2006:

Edmonton, L in 6

2007:

Calgary, W in 6

San Jose, W in 6

Anaheim, L in 6

2008:

Nashville, W in 6

Colorado, W in 4

Dallas, W in 6

Pittsburgh ???

That's the most optimistic thing I can say right now, cause I feel like total crap about our chances of winning the Cup right now.
