DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 I was gonna say Darien Hatcher but someone beat me too it. Talk about a player that never ever really made an impact then left.
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Who would forget John Ogrodnick? I figured when people started putting down All-Stars like Coffey, Chiasson and Cheveldae, as well as long-term career Wings like Burr, then including guys like Ogrodnick who simply hadn't been mentioned and thus were just forgotten was alright. Louisville 112 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Joe Murphy, Greg Johnson, Yan Golubovsky, Mathieu Dandenault, Sean Avery, Terry Murray (I didn't know this?), Josh Langfeld and Luc Robitaille who I always liked and was pretty excited when we signed him. Yeah same goes for Coffey and Chiasson. How could you forget? Although, I have been trying to forget Coffey was ever a Wings for a long time. Hate that guy. Although, I have been trying to forget Coffey was ever a Wings for a long time. Hate that guy. Awww, don't hate. The guy could score, even if he wasn't always all there on the other side of the puck. The only Wings jersey my father ever bought was a Coffey one.
juice71285 2 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) This is a little off topic, but here a few guys that are in the NHL, or were in the NHL (as recent as the 06-07 season), who tried out for the Wings and were cut (and had not played for a NHL team prior): Brett McLean, Quintin Laing (former pick), Chad Larose, Brian McGrattan, Joel Ward, Raitis Ivanans, Bryan Rodney, and Carsen Germyn. The only Wings jersey my father ever bought was a Coffey one. He was just a fourth forward. I used to hate it. PLAY DEFENSE!!! You're a DEFENSEMAN Paul! Grrr. ltgator333 3 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 He was just a fourth forward. I used to hate it. PLAY DEFENSE!!! You're a DEFENSEMAN Paul! Grrr. Only good things Coffey ever did for the wings is teach Lidstrom how to shoot the puck, and get hurt before/during the 97 finals. Gawd this thread is a regular whose-who of obscurity or I wanted to forget..

seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 I remember playing as Bobby Dollas is some of the old Sega NHL games. I don't know how terribly notable of a name that is though.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Dallas Drake...the first time. Wendel Clark too. First Wings game I ever went to, a rookie Dallas Drake had a goal and 2 assists in a 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks Everyone else seem to have exhausted the list of ex-Wings. A rookie Slava Kozlov also scored.
