Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Indeed. We need to rid of that ***** Franzen too. Oh and Lidstrom. I think they were absent for at least a game or two during the playoffs, or at some point in their career. Guys like Boogaard or Neil would sure show them how to score. WTF is your problem? Who is talking about Franzen and Lidstrom??? I'm talking about Hudler... if you have WET DREAMS with HUDLER as a main actor, well it's your problem... Hudler is a ***** and Williams is Hudler 2.0... Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 That's what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, you're going to get flamed by all of the odd Hudler lovers on this forum. That midget did have a lot of backing here despite being a 3rd line player who disappeared the second half of the playoffs. Who cares - those guys would love to have KATARINA WITT and ELVIS STOJKO in Detroit...
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 f*** Williams go after Shanahan, Bertuzzi or Bell... We got rid of Hudler and Holland need to replace ***** with another *****... At ease soldier. WTF is your problem? Who is talking about Franzen and Lidstrom??? I'm talking about Hudler... if you have WET DREAMS with HUDLER as a main actor, well it's your problem... Hudler is a ***** and Williams is Hudler 2.0... He's basically trying to give you the hint that you are acting a tad bit obnoxious.

Dominator2005 558 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 At ease soldier. He's basically trying to give you the hint that you are acting a tad bit obnoxious. With all respect that I have for you dear SouthernWingsFan and I really have, Williams isn't what Detroit really need. Add some real grit (I'm more than sorry to see Lilja out - I don't think he's going to be back) someone who can really take care of this team. Let'S not forget that Detroit TRADED Williams with reason... Calder was UPGRADE over Williams...

soonboomer 31 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Williams probably isn't the answer.......just as the no-skill hack enforcer/grit guys that half of the mob on here want aren't the answer either. Don't expect anything significant before the trade deadline...all that's left are one's the Wings can't afford or ones they should clearly avoid. Oh yea.....some of us married guys do still get ***** (probably significantly more than you)

Let'S not forget that Detroit TRADED Williams with reason... Calder was UPGRADE over Williams... Williams is far from my favorite but he's shown that he can score here/there. Given that... (1) The Wings haven't added anybody this offseason and lost some scoring, Williams isn't that bad of an option given the circumstances right now of the salary cap, not many big name guys out there left, whatever... (2) The Wings are one of the most successful teams this past decade-plus always a threat to win the Stanley Cup, signing Williams isn't going to just magically put a dent in that plan. So there's no need for people to go apes**t over this thinking that the offseason is a total failure if this happens. If Williams was so useless like some claim in here, he wouldn't be in the NHL right now or have been the past few years. He's not as bad as some people dramatize. Plenty of people in here are good at doing that.

Every married couple I meet is really as boring as they seem. Unless you mean that you've got other women on the side. That ain't right.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I'd take Bertuzzi over Williams. However, i'd take Williams over Sykora. Shannahan? No thanks.
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 Reports that the offer is $2.5M per must be way off base... otherwise Jason Williams would SURELY have inked by now. Hopefully it's closer to $1.5.

Plenty of people in here are good at doing that. I just don't think he's what we need. If we sign him/Sykora/Prospal any of these other guys mentioned, fine, some additional scoring. But look how Pitt beat us those last 2 games. Look how Nashville virtually dominated us last season. We're getting beat by the younger, physical, more energetic 3rd-4th lines. Guys with strong defensive instincts who step up and score timely goals. These were the guys that killed us last year, I constantly saw them beat us to loose pucks, cause turnovers, basically disrupting the smaller skill guys we had out there against them. I don't Skill players like Williams aren't going to fix that matchup. Like I said, nothing wrong with additional scoring. I just don't think It'll lead to improvement

The Wings aren't going to get 3rd/4th liners all the time or some just might not want to play for the Wings. Williams now though is a viable option, though not the Grade 'A' #1 favorite obviously. Far from useless though like often portrayed in here when it comes to certain people, because if that were the case these players wouldn't be playing professionally right now. Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 I thought Bertuzzi showed Detroit in 07 that he isn't what Detroit needs. But I'm pretty sure Williams did the same thing last time I remember... Oh well, at least we have a shootout specialist.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted August 2, 2009 According to NHLSourcesSay (take it for what its worth) Jason Williams is now close to signing with the Wings...... Dear God shoot me now. He'd give us that great right handed shot on the PP that we've been missing every since Sammy left. Thank you Kenny for making this offseason come full circle. Maybe now we can sign Claude Lemieux as our enforcer.
