theman19 47 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) On his twitter page. To lazy to post the link, but it's on tsn.ca Not a bad move by carolina, i'm sure they didn't want to give up assets to get Biron. As a lukewarm canes fan (give me a break i live in Raleigh) i really wish they'd just tank ala 93' sens or the 84' pens and draft Taylor Hall. russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Well that was quick I read a rumor about them wanting to sign him this morning, posted it in the Ward thread. They waste no time. Congrats Manny happy to see you back in the NHL... Don't hang yourself when the games get rough though...it is Carolina... Just Kidding...Mostly...

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 good move. I saw Manny last week here in Austin -- he was with the Chicago Wolves, along with Cheli. He got shelled for 4 goals on 12 shots But hey, his team was crap except when Cheli was on the ice. None of the goals were on Cheli's shifts. Good luck, Manny. I am sure he's happy to be back in the NHL. He didn't look happy at all when I saw him.

Carman 387 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Good for Legace, hopefully he can redeem himself.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 On the one hand, I'm happy for Legace, everyone deserves a second shot. On the other hand, given his depression issues, and knowing that he's terrible now, goign to a terrible team, it's going to be a rough ride for his psyche. RedWings Gone Wild 6 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 On his twitter page. As a lukewarm canes fan (give me a break i live in Raleigh) i really wish they'd just tank ala 93' sens or the 84' pens and draft Taylor Hall. They were tanking with Ward in net. I would be surprised if there was a different result with Legace. The southeast is always one of the worst divisions in hockey, so there may be to many weak division foes to get them enough losses for the top pick, but i'd be surprised if they made the playoffs. 2-11-3 is pretty damn ugly. C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Best of luck to Manny, I always liked him and not trying to start anything, but I always felt like he was a good goalie and sort of hung out to dry both in the 2004/2006 playoffs for us and last season with St. Louis. He's going to need it though, yikes.
Stiffy 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 I have been really hard on him in my opinion and posts, but gosh darn it, only because I believed in the guy for so long. I guess than hanging comment is up there with Howard Dean's hooting - it was a little dumb, but we have all blown it out of proportion. Stil, I wish he would have been tougher about that. He had and maybe still has potential. I think many of us would pay dearly for the kind of back up performance he gave us in the past and to watch the guy warm up was fun. His glove speed is super human. We are talking Jedi skill level with that hand of his. So, good luck Manny, but stay mentally tough would ya?
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 When Legace has his A game he is nearly unbeatable, but he beats himself up too much that 1 bad game can easily turn into 5 bad games.
Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 That's great news for Manny. I like him alot I thought he was a pretty good goalie for us while he was here. We were never going to win a Cup with him as a Starter but he made a very good consistent back-up for the Wings. Hopefully he does well in Carolina.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Good for him, especially because this should pre-empt any posts by people wanting the Wings to bring him back.

Now that he's back in the NHL, we can trade Lebda for him!!!!!! Seriously- best of luck to him. Good guy. Edited November 9, 2009 by 55fan
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted November 9, 2009 Good for him, especially because this should pre-empt any posts by people wanting the Wings to bring him back. Only for 3 to 4 weeks. When Ward is back and Legace is placed on waivers, if our goaltending is as is with production I guarentee a rhtread on claiming him, and depending on how he does I may support that as a back-up... Hocketownwest 11 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 Interesting, I just saw him play Friday against the Griffins. He didn't fair too well as he got pulled after letting in 4 unanswered goals.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted November 10, 2009 It only took him 16 years to finally make it on the ice with the team that drafted him. Not bad at all. Way to go Manny!
akustyk 84 Report post Posted November 11, 2009 good luck! I loved cheering for him when he was with the Wings (except his last playoffs when he didn't sustain the pressure) and was wishing him good with the Blues. hope he fares well in Carolina
