titanium2 867 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 Yeah. It's quite embarrassing. I know fans want to show their loyalty but that doesn't mean we have to boo him. They should be demoted to being Pens fans for that matter.
LidsFan 68 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) I understand why fans would be booing Hossa. He decided to leave Detroit for one of their rivals. What are the fans supposed to do, cheer every time he touches the puck? Edited December 24, 2009 by LidsFan

To boo: Did not resign in Detroit s***ty post-season at best Not to boo: Talented player Great regular season 2008/09 (40g) Detroit fans dont have a whole lot on this guy. As for booing Holland? Edit: Add signed with archrivals to "To boo" list. Edited December 24, 2009 by ZetterbergFourty

LidsFan 68 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) People don't have to boo or cheer Hossa. If I was at the game I personally would not boo him, but if others did it would not bother me because I understand that emotions run high at games and if a player is no longer a Red Wing, fans may not like him anymore. Hossa chose to leave no one forced him to. I am sure that the boos don't even bother him. I really wish that Kane was the one getting the boos. 55fan 5,133 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 No reason to boo him. Had we not been so filled with stars, we'd have signed him in a heartbeat. With Lidstrom, Zata, Pavel, and Mule on the roster, it's hard to afford room for yet another star. Hossa was a casualty of the salary cap, not a traitor who sold out. Maybe. Though I can see where hes coming from with that one. Holland, unlike Mr. Hossa, has done wonders for the Red Wings. I think the offer to Hossa that would have been Cap friendly to the Wings was very similiar to what he actually went and signed for in Chikacko. Could be wrong but I recall them being fairly close to the same thing.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 f*** him. He's a Blackhawk, last time I checked there our rivals, and there in our building. Him and Kopecky are getting a boo show, and it's frickin awesome. And to those saying Hossa will get the last laugh...... see 2009 Cup Final, looked worse then Leino at the Mellon, didnt even know he was playing.
Mors 201 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 I can't believe Hawks fans chant "De-troit Sucks" at games against other opposing teams that aren't the wings...what a joke! Seriously though, f*** Chicago, I hope people keep booing.
thedatsyukian 7 Report post Posted December 24, 2009 I'm pretty sure it has less to do with him leaving as it does who he left for. Impact player turning around and signing long term with your biggest divisional rival... owie.

He knows they are booing because they wish he was still on the team. It would probably have bothered him more if there was no response at all.
