commadore183 103 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Final Score Red Wings: 3 Kings: 4 Regulation Can't wait for Franzen to get back. Maybe his work ethic would spark something in the team. I want the Wings to make the playoffs, if only so that Howard can get some playoff experience. Extremely disappointed in the Wings. If they can't score worth s***, then they can't defend worth s***. Stuart and Howard with two of the more noteable f***ups in the game with their giveaway/s*** puck handling, respectively. Also can't score worth s*** on the powerplay, which used to be their most dangerous part of their game. Ugh.
RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Toronto blew a 3 goal lead yesterday against New Jersey. We are playing like Toronto ... that's how pathetic this is. Send Ericssonn down already. Bring that Tollefsen up ... he couldn't be any worst.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Knowing how paranoid Canadians are about their team, they must be wondering whether Babcock should be the guy coaching this team right now.
beepbeep 3 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 so ******* pissed at stuart... I believe I read in the freep today that Stuart wasn't concerned about his +/- going in the toilet. Does that make you feel any better?
Marty Barry 230 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 I like Babcock, but I am strting to think he has lost the team. Same here. Just like Hitchcock in Columbus, great coach who's time has expired. Maybe we should go after him. Trade one cock for another.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, I just had to do that. One of those "if I don't laugh I cry" moments. Dominate 2 of 3 periods, blow a 3 goal lead and lose another 3 players to boot. The only thing that can save us now is the Olympic break. 2 weeks to rest and refocus for most of our team - Assuming Datsyuk doesn't break his leg and Lidstrom doesn't get a puck in the face. And assumption is the mother of all cock-ups, as we like to say at work.
LidsFan 68 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) It seems like the only time the Wings want to win a game is when they are playing the Sharks. Edited February 6, 2010 by LidsFan
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 This might be the lowest moment in a season filled of low moments. It's the first time that I legitimately believe this team may fail to make the playoffs. You cannot blow three-goal leads. You just can't. There are teams that want it much more than the Wings do right now, and that's really hard to see. Losing three forwards to injury is unfortunate and more bad luck, but the roster that was left is good enough to win games like this. There isn't much more you can say. It's unbelievable, really. This feels like total s***. Not going to lie, this is the first game in which the thought legitimately crossed my mind, and I've been very, very, very positive throughout this rough season. But when your healthy team is playing this s***ty, you've either gotta make some moves to try and balance out the chemistry issues or you're probably f***ed. I still think we'll find a way into the playoffs, but there's no way in hell we'll go far playing even a bit better than we have lately.
clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 I like Babcock, but I am strting to think he has lost the team. I've been saying this for a while. I think the shelf life of a coach is about 3 - 4 years until players basically stop listening.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Losing the 3 goal lead was pathetic, but we still deserved to win (with 15 skaters). Why couldn't atleast one of those 2 posts go in? We really miss Holmstrom on the PP. We really miss some consistency on the defense. Stuart and Ericsson were beyond awful today. Every time they were out there it felt as though they were lucky if they made it off the ice without allowing a goal. That 2nd Kings goal was not good by Howard. Terrible timing to make the biggest mistake of your NHL career. Not going to blame the loss on him though. Some positives: Hank and Pavel looked great. Lidstrom and Rafalski were +3 and played fantastic. Only 3 players got injured. Okay, that last one was a joke, I couldn't come up with any more positives. VanDer 58 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 No sarcasm. Kings are a damn good team playing great hockey. We had bad luck tonight, that's all. i can see were your coming from but throwing a 3 goal lead is a joke
RedWingAbner 13 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 God forbid Ken Holland get off his ass and do something to make this team better. "Stay the course," and "We won't be active" should punch his ticket out of town. And before you flame me because he's the "best GM in hockey," I say he's the luckiest. The Wings consistently have low picks turn out to be gems----from Europe. That's Hakan Andersson's job, not Ken Holland. I am so sick of his lazy attitude, and yeah I'm venting, but come on. This team is barely a playoff contender. Why are we staying the course?

savaking72 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Well, I wonder what excuses we're going to hear now? I was sort of thinking this is by design. How else are we going to get awesome draft picks. Come on, do you really believe this team would blow a 3 goal lead on purpose?

Carman 387 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 i can see were your coming from but throwing a 3 goal lead is a joke It's disappointing for sure, but Kings have just been playing outstanding hockey for the last couple weeks. They had one bad period, and injuries/luck killed us.

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Babcock: it's not like I really expect him to flip out and be honest, but for the love... This isn't just a random "off game" anymore. This is bigger than Franzen. Franzen will help, but this team has much bigger issues. lasdkf;klsdfja
