Per Detroit Red Wings official twitter account. @DetroitRedWings

Deal is one-year, pro-rated $570,000 as rumored earlier today.

He'll be placed on waivers at 12 noon ET tomorrow. If no team puts in a waiver claim for him he will be a Red Wing officially at 12:01pm on Saturday.

Update (1/22 @ 12:02p): The New York Islanders have claimed Nabokov off waivers.

I'd hate to be Nabby thinking that he's going to Detroit and then get claimed by the Islanders.

If he makes it to NY.. NJ could claim him first and then move him or Hedburg...

No matter what, there was a point to this. We just may not find out the actual one until this offseason.

Ozzie is worse off then was expected and they didn't want to say anything yet?

I'm sure he's well aware that a bottom feeder will be interested. Question is, can he turn down all other offers?

Maybe Kenny worked out a deal with a bottom feeder?

I made a joke about this in the other thread... "Hey Lou......... "

Let's see what NJ does...

at 570? Oh man, no way we get him. I suppose this is just a set up for next season then?

Very strange happenings....

Yeah, what about all this from the player's point of view? How much clout and input does he get, if any?
