Well I guess it will be impossible to watch any shows like Sportscenter, PTI, etc on ESPN for at least a week.

Lol espn does not care about the west coast so it will not be that bad.. plus they don't care about hockey :)

Great try Wings! So close, so close! Despite the disappointment of losing, I'm feeling good about Howard. The position is set for 10 years. Also, I don't have a bitter feeling after this year's elimination. In 2009 there was the non-suspension to Malkin and the non to many men on the ice call. 2010 had the Sharks diving, and getting Power Plays because of it. This year seems like we were fairly beat. Full credit to San Jose for bouncing back and winning Game 7, now Let's Go Canucks!

I still think we'll win one more cup with Datsyuk and Zetterberg as the top guys on the team. Though to win this year when the injuries kept mounting. With Bertuzzi and Cleary going down tonight, how much would we have had left against Vancouver? Enjoy the extra rest boys and get 'em next year!

Marleau pulled a Crosby tonight. Marleau did nothing all series but gets the game winner, like Cindy in the Olympics.

This will be old news Saturday. The next series will be starting then. Just avoid all those shows if you don't want to see it. Personally, I want to watch Around the horn and PTI tomorrow. I always like hearing the backstories, even though they are often full of s***.

I am so tired of the refs having it out for us just because we ave shown that no one, and I mean NO ONE is even close. We have won almost 1/3 of all Stanleys over the past 14 years!

This series should have been over in 4 or, at most, 5 games but for the refs calling ridiculous penalties against us and letting the Sharks get away with murder. No matter what anyone says, the Sharks are, and always will be, chokers. But for whomever paid off the refs, the Sharks would now be off ordering lattes or whatever it is they do in Panty Hose A.

I do think the Marleau goal was goalie interference on The Gooch though, but we had 4 PP and they had 3, the difference is, they scored on one of them...

Every mistake is magnified in a loss, especially a game 7 loss. Anyone can win a 1 game playoff, and thats what this was.

It was a bad turnover, but Hank contributes so much to every Wings game, and it's inevitable that a player will screw up sometimes but he makes so few, that it's easily forgivable. There were just too many other players that were passengers in this series -- Dano and Bert unfortunately were hurt tonight, but were only a factor in 2 of the 6 games they actually did play in. Flip was only a factor in one of them. Obviously Hudler was terrible. I can't blame Franzen, it's a real shame injuries scuttled his playoffs.

Hank and Pav pretty much carried the Wings to Game 7. Their secondary scoring needs some retooling because they should've had enough firepower to compete without Mule.

Guest stinky fish taco

I'd try and trade you for mindfly, but I'd have to give up at least two first rounders.

The general attitude around here seems to be "Cleary skated facefirst into Hudler and injured himself, Hudler needs to be off the team before he injures everyone else on the team by forcing them to skate facefirst into his elbow!"

thought's on hudler's play tonight?

was he the best forward on the ice, or just the second best?

Yes Hudler was pretty bad tonight, but Rafalski was down right awful. Get that plug off the team. Ericcsson is terrible as well. Pavel was simply amazing like usual, never ceases to amaze me. Hank was terrible in the first, but definitely picked his game up.

Jimmy...well, he has a bright future ahead of him I think.

...Go Bolts!

Ericsson made one really awesome defensive play that prevented the Sharks from getting an up-close-and-personal shot on Howard, so I won't rag on him this game, but I wouldn't mind seeing him traded or at least the team acknowledging he won't be more than 5th or 6th defenseman. He did start stepping up his physical game and that could be an asset.

As good as I feel about the team effort, it doesn't erase the doubts we've had over the season. Flip had a great game but is still better as trade bait for an impact player. Howard is fantastic but we still need a backup. Hudler hustled but just doesn't have the killer instinct. I'd still trade Flip and Hudler for a reliable impact 2nd liner. Kronwall had a fantastic season and especially the playoffs. He's another guy who steps it up in the playoffs and when it counts. Which makes choosing between him and Stuart all the more difficult. I guess keep both and go all out for an excellent 2nd or 3rd defenseman with the extra cash. And hope Lidstrom resigns.

i can't believe how useless he was. i have come to accept the fact that he will struggle defensively but he is usually a key offensive weapon, especially on the PP. but in this series (IIRC) he had zero points!!! for an offensive defenseman that is inexplicable and at 6m per year he has to be the worst value for money player in the league.

Just at a loss for words yet again. These may be the two most evenly-matched teams I've ever seen ... which is why mistakes like Zetterberg's giveaway and not taking advantage on the power play makes the difference. So frustrating. Two OT losses, two one-goal losses that could've easily gone to OT. Difficult way to go into the summer.

Now that my team is out, play off's will not be the same or mean as much. s***, it will be a long summer~But I guess before we know it will be September Training camp in TC.

I've really enjoy having all of you with me at all 90 some games.... I might not say to much here, but believe me I appreciate all these GDT's, either they are making me laugh or informing of

plays that I missed. All of you have a great summer!

ps. I'll be watching Tigers now that the Wings are done, but baseball is soooooooo slow, LOL.

Great series, much respect to you guys and your team. You guys showed a s*** ton of heart and resiliency, something I hope my team can learn from these last few games. Hold your heads high. I have no doubt (barring a collapse on our end) that we'll see you around this time next year.

Classic series, makes me appreciate hockey even more, congrats.

I mean, I really don't think there is any debate that Pav is by far the better player at this point. I just think it is undeniable that literally, Z's command of the English language is much stronger and is necessary for a captain of an elite franchise. I don't even know, do you think Pav wants the C? I also think that whoever it is, they will be captain for a long time. The franchise will not be flip flopping between captains. And again, I don't think Pav is going anywhere, but because of Z's contract, you would think that only helps his chances.

Again, not an issue for another year at least. Why wouldn't Nick come back?

Thanks Wings for another great season and making it interesting. See you in October.

Z was the better player in the regular season and in the San Jose series.

Very disappointing finish, but kudos to the team for coming back in the series, and only losing by 1 goal with franzen cleary and bertuzzi out. I believe a healthier team could have beaten SJ but oh well...Our PP was horrific...2 shots on 4 pp attempts? we had our chance at the end....Datsyuk and Z played strong again..though I am baffled wtf Babcock was thinking...why dress hudler he's a bum I rathe Modano...and lastly why have your TWO BEST players in dats and Z on the bench in the last 30? sure theyre tired but a tired Z and dats ar ebetter then huds and abs out there in the final 30 seconds of your season? Horrible horrible choice...plz get rid of ericsoon and hudler by next year, and rafalski pplz retire..lidstrom plz come back...Howard I have 100% faith in you next year and you have proven that you can be a star goaltender in the playoffs...All in all it was a good season, disappointing finish, but hopefully we can advance further next year..for now f*** sj and vancouver but i rather see Van win, but im a TB fan now for the rest of the playoffs..1 last GO WINGS GO!!!

well I'm drunk. I will say this in my druken stuper. Fcuk (i spell misappropriate on purpose) hudler. I was happy when he came but seriously dump that garbage. Zeta, really?;...really? You had ALL season to eff up and you do it tonight?

All in all whatever.. It is what it is. We didn't show up tonight. The sharks desevered to lose; simple as that. They were NOT the better team in this series. But they WERE the better team TONIGHT when it mattered most. ***...We had it...We had history, we had it. But we didn't show up. So much for that exciting 5.5 plane trip, hope yu enjoyed it because you have another 5.5 plane trip coming back and something tells me its not going to be as fun.

Wings didn't shw up. Im drunk.

We didnt show up for 35% of the season and we didn't shw up when it mattered the most. I really feel like hte cup could have been it. could have been ours if we won.

"i believe in what wins games" didn't babcock say something simialr? Well....we won game 6 on FIRE but lets change it up for game 7!!

Anyhow/...it is what it is... f***...

atleast dats fought perry..i will never forget that..

well, that's a tough one to swallow especially knowing that we had three of our biggest contributors aside from hank/pavel out either all game or for the majority of it. glad we fought until the final horn though, it's just a shame to see them move on knowing that they won two, arguably three games in this series that they had absolutely no business winning (1st, 3rd, and tonight's). they definitely owe alot to niemi. i think we could've wiped the floor with them had our special teams been better, but at the end of the day our production (or lack thereof) on the pp/pk was the story of our team in these playoffs.

that said, we'll be back. if this was nick's final season, i'll say this, take care my man! you are the greatest defenseman the game has ever seen since bobby orr. the greatest defenseman in the modern expansion era of hockey, period. enjoy wearing those four championship rings on your fingers, you deserve every single one of them.

I am proud of the team but holy f*** the PP let them down especially late. Anyhow, if Nick retires please throw 8 mil at Weber.

Weber has got some growing up to do. He was pretty invisible in the series against Vancouver. None of that revered slapshot made it into the net. Nothing more than 5 mill per. He is certainly not worth more than Lids.

Very entertaining series, considering it was 3-0 at one point. Can't be disappointed as the Wings pushed it to the limit. It's only happened so few times. The western conference final should be a dandy. :D

Hudler was good. He generated chances, and worked hard. Zetterberg, despite his mistake, was the best forward on the ice. Dats was #2.

You people with your Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg stuff  . I consider myself more of a Zetterberg fan over Datsyuk, but a few years ago told myself not to pick sides, I don't want this to turn into another Yzerman vs. Fedorov thing like we had in the 1990's.

They're both on our team, and both are awesome!

Agreed and if it came down to it I want Nick back but if he does hang them up, Weber is franchise d-man material and 7-8 mil might be the going rate.
