Just the other night he shut down a reporter that wanted to ask him questions about Connor McDavid. Like, this is a Stanley Cup winner. A Jack Adams winner. He's coached absolutely legends, Hall of Famers, for a long long time and these people want to get sound bites of him gushing over 27 year olds...or worse, pining for 19 year olds. This is why I want Quenneville so bad. He's an excellent systems coach (like Jon Cooper for example), but also a total hardass that demands his players work their asses off (like Torts). Honestly I think Danny's full of s***, the kid literally wanted to turn pro after having a great freshman year last season like Larkin did but they wanted to tank and wait it backfired and they wonder why he didn't wanna report to camp this year. Who would want to play for a team like that? I also heard he wanted some bonuses in his contract and apparently it would've pushed them over the cap.. idk if I buy that philly was dogs*** last year no way were they up against the cap. They need to draft better The Maple Leafs certainly aren't bad because the big four are bad players. The Leafs are screwed because their their big 4 are all forwards and their depth is trash. Just look at their defense. Datsyuk and Zberg are not good enough offensively to win cups with that defense either. For comparison sake, IMO they are essentially running a line up of Red Wings era: Nick Leddy - Mike Green Kyle Quincey - Brendan Smith Ruslan Salei - Jakub Kindl Then they have zero options in net too. They now have to hope a 34 year old washed up league min Marin Jones will keep them in games the rest of the season (or at least the TDL). Replace the big 4 with two copies of Bergeron and Datsyuk and that team still ain't winning no cups.
