GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 He almost won a Cup, since Anaheim won in 2007 and we won in 2008, and he played for those franchises in surrounding seasons.

dats13owns 157 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 Did I hear him call Bert a Stanley Cup champ?? Forgive me if I have gone nuts, but I don't remember Bert ever raising the cup... I swear I heard that, too, thought maybe I just didn't hear it right. I then sat there for 10 minutes racking my brain trying to figure out who he won a Cup with. The blank look on Bert's face after the fact should have answered my question.
wingfanatic4alltime 32 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 I heard that too and he also said we're tied with Chicago. I could tell Bertuzzi wanted to say something but he was biting his lip. Oh Pierre you make me laugh
Doggy 130 Report post Posted January 14, 2012 The best part was Bert's face as he turned away from the interview. He was like, "Seriously?".
blgillett 48 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Wasn't his fault he lost a lot of blood from the nose bleeds after standing on such a tall ladder between the benches just so he could see over the boards 1 Nev reacted to this
Hank Dats 'N Homer 81 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 He i heard this too. Also did anyone else notice how Pierre said FranSen instead of FranZen during the interview? Call it pulling hairs or what not, but your job is to commentate and be knowledgable. How can he claim to do either of those?

Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot) 55 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Actually I thought that I heard that the Swedes actually pronounce their z with an s sound. The correct way to pronounce zetterberg is somewhere near Setterbear

Nevermind 363 Report post Posted January 15, 2012 Hopefully it's not a case of Pierre just being his usual idiot self. Maybe he's psychic and sees that Bert and the Wings will win the Cup this year. Thus, making Bert a Cup champion. 1 55fan reacted to this

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted January 16, 2012 I think Pierre is icky and wish he'd be replaced by someone that doesn't creep on the players (as funny as that is when he's interviewing someone I don't like) but give the guy a break. Tuzzi played for teams that won Cups very near each other. He had just changed teams at inopportune times. Even an expert who knows who played for whom and who won the cup can miss it by a year with a particular player. He should know, but that doesn't mean he didn't just miss-speak. He probably got off camera and went, "oh, crap. He was with the _______ that year."

The correct way to pronounce zetterberg is somewhere near Setterbear Yup. And the vowels in Franzén is pronounced in exactly the same way as the ones in Brashear. Thanks to whoever it was that mentioned it to me a while back.
