Ok, I didn't think we would have to resort to this, but I think it's time to get Helm the same surgery that Wolverine got to fuse adamantium to his bones. Let's all pool our money together and make it happen.

he could conjure his stick from between his knuckles.

@AnsarKhanMLive: Babcock said Helm had a setback. They were hoping he'd play Wednesday but now that's a "pipe dream" he said.

@AnsarKhanMLive: Helm called it a minor setback, he hopes. Will take it day by day and see how he feels. No decision yet on whether he goes on Calif. trip

Unreal. Has to be so frustrating for Helm playing virtually no hockey in a year now.

I just want him back fully healthy, so hopefully

today's setback doesn't keep him away for much longer.

Sucks I so hope it is not a major setback and he can come back fully healthy and be done with this damn injury.

Get well soon Helmer, this team needs you like hot bread.

Man this sucks, if it's serious he should just shut it down for the year, he's too important for this to become something he battles his entire career. Back injuries are brutal though, they really just disappear and reappear all the time.

I hate thinking this but he may be a chronically injured player....it just seems like he cannot get and stay healthy. I don't like it....I don't like it at all...

Deadline deal could be looming if our "getting Helm back" doesn't turn out to be our deadline deal after all....

To be fair, he has been a healthy player. He has hit a streak of bad luck with three unrelated industry. Now if he is injured for the next two years, then you can call him chronically injured.

Not sure what happened, but he's back to "we have no idea when he's going to be back" status. Still a status-quo prognosis on Bertuzzi. He'd like to play this season, but doesn't know.

Wonderful.

Hopefully Helm and Bertuzzi can at least be our "deadline acquisitions". I miss Helm. It would be a real shame to have him miss an entire shortened season.

Call it....Helm will be out the rest of the season and playoffs....why risk it? Kenny, do what you have to do, either go with this team or make a deal or a player or picks, whatever. Helm needs to just be done and come back 100% (hopefully) in September...

Hell, sign some NCAA UFA's as soon as you can....make some deals or don't...just stop trying to get Helm back when he isn't 100%! Bert and Sammy I could care less about coming back, but keep Helm out until he is 150% if you have too! This team will make the playoffs and that in and of itself will be a winning successful season considering the situation they started the season with and the injuries throughout...

This is just a condensed season, so if Helmer isn't 100 % don't come back. Not worth risking your career for just a few games, take the summer to become healthy again and hopefully getting over this injury soon.

Just put him and Bert on LTIR and then their cap falls off the books as well as their roster spot. Get someone here to play in the top 6 and center the third line...there are players like that available still....go for it...or don't...

Backs can be tricky. I hope he can be 100% next fall I wouldn't even try to have him play this year. Risking his career for 5 weeks of games just isn't worth it.
