St. Michael (the Red Wing) 422 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 That's a heartbreaker for the Kings. They're struggling as a team and played great this game overall. Jimmy just wouldn't let them score. Once the Kings get it going they will be alright. They looked good today. Just Jimmy was better
TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 And he made a very smart play flipping the puck in to Quick to get a faceoff and a line change late. Agreed. Mule may not be lighting up the stats column like he did in that playoff series against Colorado a few years back, but he has done a LOT of the things that don't show up in the stats but still help you win. I'd be willing to wager he's having fun thses days.
SaCkaveli20 275 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 What a game...I can't even imagine how tired they were. Isn't that the heart everyone says is missing? Wooooo go wings!! Big E for the Big W!!!

Nightfall 871 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Pierre trying to credit Cleary on the goal - what a ****** He should be credited. He worked hard on that play. While I haven't been his biggest fan this season, he deserves credit where credit is due. 2 55fan and Nev reacted to this
clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Anybody else notice how Flip clipped Quick's skate right before the shot? I think it subtly effected him closing the file hole in time.
matt198913 932 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Can we also put to rest the Jimmy Howard is average crap. This team was totally out of gas, and he comes up huge. 3 derblaueClaus, Wing-in-avs-town and MidMichSteve reacted to this

TheXym 2,606 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 I actually thought it squeaked between Quicks arm and body, but yeah, an ice patch?? Olczyk is awful. Um.... isn't a hockey rink a 200 foot by 80 foot ice patch? The guy is sinking to new depths of derptitude. At least he wasn't fellating Crosby all game. metalkorn 45 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 What an amazing win for the wings! They were under the pump for most of that game but Jimmy kept coming up big. Good to see some good fortune go our way, a solid defensive effort from the team which is the big thing i take away from this game. 3 in a Row!
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 You guys, the Wings got lucky that the puck "hit an ice patch" and went in. It's not cuz Big E found the 5 hole. Says Edzo. esteef I actually thought it squeaked between Quicks arm and body, but yeah, an ice patch?? Olczyk is awful. I think it's funny how Olczyk is so bad when he doesn't credit the wings, but then Pierre credits Cleary for hard work in the corner and people here are still irritated. Guess they can't win. RyanBarnes! 293 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Honestly I don't know if that's on Quincey. I'd have to see it again but he was outnumbered down low and shouldn't have been. goal!!! It was Miller who failed to get the puck out of his zone.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Once the Kings get it going they will be alright. They looked good today. Just Jimmy was better yeah, as a Kings fan I was hoping they'd come back playing like the team from the end of last season and playoffs. But they've started this season the way they did last season. And they can't really do that with only 48 games to play. They did look good today though. But Mitchell was a huge loss to their blueline. He was probably their best D man in the playoffs. Then to lose Greene too. They need other guys to step up. And Doughty tends to try to do too much and make mistakes. He made the bad play on E's goal I think. Same here. I think he's still trying to get in shape, but the guy still has the warrior mindset.

Guess they can't win. I'm not one to harp on announcers. I think a lot of the perceived injustices are just because people are Wings fans and hear what they want to hear. But even on broadcasts for other teams, Olczyk is absolutely awful and unprofessional in his love for the Hawks and Pens and disdain for certain teams. 1 Nev reacted to this

Euro_Twins 4,485 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 That's a heartbreaker for the Kings. They're struggling as a team and played great this game overall. Jimmy just wouldn't let them score. Ya I was jumping up and down when we won, but honestly as soon as I saw Quick's face I felt pretty bad for the guy. He played one of his best games of the year, and to have a goal squeek by him like that with 4 seconds left was probably just crushing for him. The whole team played probably their best game of the year, but they were up against a hot goalie, they tied it late, they were thinking they would get at least a point out of it, but they had another heart wrenching loss. The kings play tomorrow too, they will be exhausted
evilzyme 769 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Once the Kings get it going they will be alright. They looked good today. Just Jimmy was better Oh man, if an average goalie did that to them, I don't even WANT to see what an "elite" goaltender would do!! 4 55fan, MidMichSteve, Barrie and 1 other reacted to this
clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Same here. I think he's still trying to get in shape, but the guy still has the warrior mindset. It's not his mindset, but his physical skills which have deteriorated - and no - I don't by the "getting in shape" argument. Franzen, maybe yes. Cleary is just plain done. DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 It was Miller who failed to get the puck out of his zone. Why was the 4th line even out there with less than 1:30 to go anyways ? They barely played the entire period. Datsyuk or Z should have been there for sure.
