Crashnburnluder 385 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 The good thing is, Holland does out a lot of Value in Mrazek and Nyquist and company... If that's the best deal Calgary could muster
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 Being a Calgary fan must be the worst feeling in the world. They've been crying for a rebuild for years, and when it finally happens... their GM absolutely screws it up, getting a simply awful return for their players. The 1st round picks they've gotten are late, the prospects are most likely going nowhere. Calgary will be a very, very bad team for a long time.

So true, this was one of those years where it was a seller's market. With so many teams still in the running, the Flames should have had a bidding war going on. Carman 387 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 This ****** on NBC just called the Blues a Cup contender.....seriously, does JBo make them that much better? Yes. He's a very good defenseman that can play a ton of minutes. They have cap room to afford his overpaid salary as well.
SuperCalaFilppulastic! 34 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 More jobbers no one has heard of. How come the Pens and Blues can trade faceless kids and we can't? And I'm not saying we should have gotten Boumeester. Just wondering. I absolutely don't understand this either. Everyone trades generic players for value except us. It blows my mind - I almost feel like it must be that Holland doesn't even bother to try these trades.
mackel 681 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 If the blues fail to make the playoffs the 1st is deferred to 2014 and the Flames get a 4th this year.... So it's maybe not even a 1st in this years supposedly strong draft class...

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 What about his salary? Don't the Blues have to eat that? He's still not worth that money, whether the guys and picks he was traded for suck or not. dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 We could have offered more but without the 1st rounder. He gets 1st round value and then a couple throw-in prospects. Feaster has no clue.

Number19 159 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 Good trade for the Blues. Feel bad for Flame fans. Trading their core (albeit old/crappy core) away for scraps. Hopefully one of those picks pan out.

The Detroit model is always have 30+ mil freed up cap space go to waste cause you never know with the salary cap era. Heaven forbird we use it with our core locked up in lifetime contracts. Might need to overpay for the Carlo Colaiacovos of the world. Edited April 2, 2013 by Number19 1 Dominator2005 reacted to this
