#RedWings lose D Jonathan Ericsson (fractured ribs) for 3-5 weeks. Bad for Sweden, too, as it puts Ericsson at risk for missing Sochi.

Wow! Bummer! Get well Big E!

At this rate it'll be the Griffins vs the Maple Leafs at the Winter Classic.

Gotta be. No one else we have on the lower pairings is even close to Danny's level.

Kyle quincey seriously needs to GTFO. Hes really letting the team down with his all around piss poor play.
Whats worse is for the next 3-5 weeks he'll be on the 2nd pairing playing 20+ minutes a game.

Shoot me.

At this rate, Holland will never have the chance to cut Quincey and/or Cleary.

A guy can dream, I guess.

5 concussion protocols...

4 Griffins call ups...

3 strained groins...

2 fractured ribs...

And a herniated disc for Z!

Crappiest Christmas song ever...

"And the best, I must confess, I have saved for the last, for the ruler of this Christmas land,

is a fearsome king with a deep mighty voice, least, that's what I've come to understand.

And I've also heard it told, that he's something to behold, like a lobster, huge and red!

When he sets out to slay with his rain gear on, carting bulging sacks with his big great arms, that is so I've heard it said.

And on a dark cold night, under full moon light, he flies into a fog like a vulture in the sky!

And they call him Sandy Claws!

This team is too fragile every year.  Like I said last night, they need to see what they're doing wrong training wise instead of always chalking it up to bad luck.

Seems like we go through this every year now.

According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

It's so abnormal. These injuries should be investigated. Way too frequent, way too...well...odd.

Unreal. Just get DeKeyser back and E is out again. I said it in the GDT last night, but the loss of any one of Kronwall, E or DeKeyser is a major blow to the defense. There's hardly any quality depth back there beyond those three.

More minutes for Quincey and Kindl against a very tough January schedule is not ideal.

smith played with kronwall last night, but dekeyser on the top line has worked great in the past.

I really don't remember a season when injuries were THIS bad. I mean there have been a few rough stretches in recent memory but not to this capacity. This is yet another respectable quality player not on the squad for an extended period of time, and long term it's really going to damage this teams chances of making playoffs this year unless something improves fast.

I don't think you can blame poor training for this type of injury. It's not like it's an injury to a joint or muscle. Nonetheless, the teams training regimen should be reexamined.

Huh?  Try 2010, 2013.  Not that long ago to remember.

It's definitely not a coincidence and not just old age either.  The injuries are happening to guys of all ages.  I don't know how they practice and what the training staff does to keep the players in shape, but we're an injury riddled team almost annually now.

...so, E is out. Fine. I still sit Q & K. I bring up all of Ouellet, Marchenko and Almquist. Send a f'ing message to these two 1st round picks that 'know the system.'
