Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Can't Nyquist play center? He used to be a center, true. But he's doing incredibly well as a winger, so we're not gonna mess with that.

The Datsyukian Deke 127 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Who's to say we're gonna be here in the future? What if we get hit by an asteroid? Not interested in serous discussion anymore..? Playoff experience for our young guys=future Ok, i can see that. But, if you head in that direction, saying "we need to get in and get our youth to learn more", then you have to make not just the Legwand-Trade. Then you should've gone for an upgrade on D, too. Holland has been after both Edler and Ehrhoff. The price for Kesler was in the realm of Nyquist+Mantha+1st, and the price for Edler was supposedly even higher. I didn't like giving up Jarnkrok but he's not in the same realm as Nyquist and Mantha.

Ok, if that really was the price Vancouver was asking for, I'm relieved Holland didn't do it because that is just crazy.

Euro_Twins 4,485 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 Can't Nyquist play center? Nyquist is scoring more goals then anyone thought he would playing on the wing, when your team is having trouble scoring you don't put one of your top goal scorers at center to keep an unproven prospect around. Why mess with something that's working so well?

OMFG Gus is made of glass....wonder if they'll re-sign him next year because of this? Whats the point in having a back-up if he can't be relied upon to be fit when you need him? Even with his injuries Gus might be a able to find a starting job next year, and I think Holland will go with Mrazek to save cap space.

amato 3,210 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) If he was ok being #2 he'd stay in NJ. assuming they'd want him back(don't see why they wouldn't).... but good point, wonder where he could go to find a straight up starting job though. i think if he wants to play, he's going to have to sign somewhere then earn the spot. Euro_Twins 4,485 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 I'm referring to two to three years from now when Jarnkrok was supposed to join the Wings as a top-6 center. in 2-3 years we will still have a pretty deep group of centers. I don't see him making it If he was ok being #2 he'd stay in NJ. he is just about ready to retire, he said he MIGHT play one more year, he won't be a starter anywhere, unless it's vancouver, becasue they screwed themselves, in which case it wouldd basically be like vancouver and njd swapped goalies and njd won
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted March 8, 2014 Brodeur is so washed up. He goes and demands a trade at the deadline like some team is going to want him as a rental to win the Stanley cup. He should retire
