nawein 324 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 If he can get stronger on the puck along the boards and down low (like Zetterberg strong), he could be a serious threat. Not that he isn't now, but I think that could be the one thing that puts him over the top. Then we'd have like Z, and younger faster Z. And I like the sounds of that. pucktividi 472 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 Future captain right here folks. Gotta be him or Dekeyser once Z is gone. Goose is willing this to team to victory night in and night out. You know it's gonna be Kronwall and I'm a huge Nytroquist fan
themcityblues 249 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) He is a star. We saw last year in the playoffs. Now he's maturing into a full-time star. Edited March 21, 2014 by themcityblues

DannyD 79 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 They're both 33, wouldn't be surprised if it's Nyquist. Exactly. They will probably both be leaving the league around the same time. Plus with the way the Wings work I don't envision them having a "stopgap" captain. I think if Kronner is on his last season or two when Z hangs 'em up then they go with a younger guy who can grow with the team and be around for a long time. number9 3,297 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 Nyquist will probably be around 30 when Z retired. Not like he'll be a kid anymore.

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) It was Nyquist's 15th goal in 21 games since Jan. 20, the most in the NHL in the past two months, and his fourth in three games. http://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/recap?id=2013021046&navid=DL|NHL|home Edited March 21, 2014 by Dabura

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 This game might have been the most impressive Gus has played. He was actually a dominant player out there, and we were playing one of the top teams in the league. Setting up the OT goal by knocking Malkin down and creating a turnover is just epic. 1 Z Winged Dangler reacted to this

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 I'm beginning to think the Wings may just pull this off. Datsyuk should be back in what, five or six more games? Helm should come back next week. Just hang on, guys, the cavalry is coming. 4 kipwinger, WingsAlways, Z Winged Dangler and 1 other reacted to this

Just hang on, guys, the cavalry is coming. I'm honestly pretty concerned that Datsyuk is done for the season. His knee has been bad since December and he has played what, 5 games for the Wings in that time? I don't think three weeks will fix his problem, but lets hope I'm mistaken and Datsyuk can suit up for a run. 1 wings87 reacted to this
wings87 1,290 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 That would really help us with a home and home against the Wild. I just can't wait for Helm or Weiss anymore, if they come back, great, if not then we'll just play the guys that are on the team now. Checking when our injured players will be back has started to piss me off.

Checking when our injured players will be back has started to piss me off. No doubt. I just so badly want Helm to stay healthy. He's my favorite player behind Z and Dats, so I'd love to watch him play more often. He was so close to being fully healthy and then got sent awkwardly into the boards head first and there goes that comeback... 1 wings87 reacted to this

joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted March 21, 2014 I think teams will be copying our style of over developing. We're able to insert a guy into an NHL lineup in his first year and be a top 6 producer with no growing pains

There was points during the game where he looked like Z out there, just hanging onto the puck in the offensive zone like something fierce.
