Crashnburnluder 385 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Essentially get 2 and were locked, but if we get 1 in the next two games, ottawa has to win out to make it over us.
derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 (edited) If we only get 1 point in the next two games, chances then? Boston would need to drop four points (including the game tonight), Ottawa one and the Pens three. So essentially to kick us out Boston at least needs to win one game + one OT/SO loss, Ottawa needs two wins and the Pens need to win one. If all this happens we're out. If only one of these things don't happen we're in. Edit : Small mistake on my side. Like us Pens only need to win one game in regulation, because of their then better ROW. But if the Pens win only in SO, we'd have the tiebreaker because the season series is 2:1 for Detroit. chaps80 1,591 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 I like our chances, let's just get a win tomorrow though shall we? It's all they can do at this point. How nice a few of those extra shootout points would be right now. Oh well, just win the upcoming games and they'll be fine, that simple.
kipwinger 8,755 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 It's so weird watching other teams play. For instance, Washington actually maintains possession in the offensive zone for extended periods of time. It's like bizzaro world.

You mean they don't send the puck between their teammates skates all the time ? Wow. Where do you learn that kind of witchcraft ? @side note : After stealing a point from one of the hottest team in the league right now they implode in a meaningless game. That should indicate how hard it is to play those supposed weaker teams. Edited April 9, 2015 by derblaueClaus

Actually, since they played an odd number of games, the first home game for whichever team played 2 @ home is thrown out. So whatever that leaves. I'm too lazy to look at the schedule. 1 derblaueClaus reacted to this
BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Actually, since they played an odd number of games, the first home game for whichever team played 2 @ home is thrown out. So whatever that leaves. I'm too lazy to look at the schedule. If this is true, Detroit won the one game at Detroit and went 1-1 in games at s***sburgh, and the first home game for s***zburgh was the loss. Therefore, Detroit owns a 2-0 advantage. 1 derblaueClaus reacted to this

Motown4013 350 Report post Posted April 9, 2015 Is there any combination that will make both Boston and Pittsburgh out of playoffs? Yep, if BOS looses to the caps tonight, they will be tied in points with Ottawa (95) ( this is there game in hand) so both Ottawa and Boston will be 1 back from the Pens (96) and 2 behind us (97) Boston has Florida and Tampa to play, Pitt has NYI and Buffalo to play. Boston could be out if they were to loose the next game and only get a point in their last. Pitt would need to loose both OR get help from Ottawa...but all of these scenarios are dependant on the other teams.
