There's just jail. It's the same for everybody. And LA County's main facility, the Twin Towers, is no joke. Unless he PC's up, he'll be spending his 90 days in a 80 man cell full of gang bangers, drug addicts, and murders awaiting trial. Speaking of those 90 days, since his crime is violent in nature he would be ineligible for any sort of work release program, house arrest or anything of the sort. I'm not certain, but I don't even think he is going to get credit for good behavior. I'd be willing to bet good money that he'll be serving the full 90 days in one of the worst facilities in the nation. This isn't the 80's or something bro. His lawyer might have gotten him the most favorable outcome possible, but California's DOC takes violent and domestic abuse sentences VERY seriously, and his semi-celebrity status will not buy him any sort of preferential treatment out here. According to the Los Angeles Times’ Nathan Fenno, Voynov, who was handed down a 90-day after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor count of corporal injury to a spouse, has spent the past 23 days in the Seal Beach Police Detention Center in Seal Beach, Calif. The detention center, which has 30 beds, costs Voynov $100 per day, and allowed him to bring in personal items including, “an inexpensive watch, five photographs and up to $100 in cash for purchases from the commissary.” As part of Voynov’s plea deal, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Eric C. Taylor allowed the Kings blueliner to choose which prison he would serve his sentence at. He chose Seal Beach and entered the facility on July 7. Even though the sentence is 90 days, Fenno reported it’s likely that Voynov will not serve more than 45 days and be released on good behavior. Voynov will be on probation for the next three years. We aren't online all the time, especially at the time these threads are being created, which is usually during work hours or at 3am. Or that (at least in the case of Voynov) public opinion didn't force them to do something they otherwise wouldn't have. But the fact is, none of those three dummies will be playing for, or getting paid by, the Los Angeles Kings. And that does resemble accountability, at least a little bit.
