Datsyukian-Deke 722 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 We get the same thing for Vanek that we got for Jurco. What a freaking joke. Holland is an idiot for waiting to pull the trigger. The market must have dried up.

LeftWinger 5,129 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 If it's only a 3rd, I would've just rather kept him...the good old Holland is back, he must've missed Oakland Hills.

He is not afraid to fight or just intimidate, McIlrath has a good shot and his puck distribution has been improving but he needs to improve his skating and defensive positioning." former 10th overall pick, 24 years old, right handed, good size. Well there is this from hockey's future as well: McIlrath spent the 2015-16 season with the New York Rangers, seeing lower pairing minutes when in the lineup and appearing in 34 of 72 games in his first NHL season. Envisioned as a Scott Stevens-type shutdown defenseman when he was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, McIlrath is a liability at times against skilled, mobile forwards. He appears headed towards a career as more of physical intimidating third-pairing defenseman.

If a team would've paid more than a third than Holland would've traded him there. Not sure why someone wouldn't give up a second for Vanek.

hardcoretom21 71 Report post Posted March 1, 2017 Relative peanuts for one of this season's few bright spots... On top of that, traded to a divisional rival, usually that would mean a steeper price! 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
