Pagnotta reporting we are indeed in on John Gibson. 1 other unnamed team is involved as well. Probably the Flyers trying to get a goalie... but maybe its San Jose helping to retain?

Meh.  I'm not sold on this guy.  The smart move would be to send Husso to LTIR for 75 games, play Lyon/Reimer with a sprinkling of Cossa, and then add Husso at the end of the season.  Cossa will be ready for Detroit in 2025.  We just need to pull off a playoff season next year, and then go for it in 2026.

Tampa Bay sat Kucherov and his 10 mil per for 60 games during one of their cup seasons.  It's easier to win if you have 110% of the salary cap to work with.  Vegas did it.  Colorado did it.  It's not like it's rocket science.  Espcially if you're goalie has been out the last 8 months with a groin injury.

Scam Presser: "We're working with Ville everyday.  He's not right yet, but we're making progress.  A goalie's groin is not something you want to rush, as we proved late last year.  We're going to keep taking steps with him to get him right.  Sooner the better, but we're not going to risk further injury to him by bringing him back to soon.  I'm upset that we took that chance at the end of last season."

BAM.  4,000,000 of extra cap space.

I'm really not sure why we'd want Stamkos. The Lightening had him, Kucherov, Hedman, Point, and Vasilevsky and they got demolished in the first round. We've got nothing like that. So how's he going to help us before he's told old to contribute? Same deal with Kane. I'd have preferred we kept Walman and Gibson and let the young guys on the team mature and grow together. If we're not getting someone under 26 years old (e.g. Necas, Sharangovich) I'm not really sure what the point is.
