Has there ever been a package to deal to secure the #1 overall? We seem to have a lot of talented guys but really need another huge talent to match with some of these guys. Burke did it in 99 with Vancouver, to get the Sedin's. Draft order was Tampa, Atlanta, Vancouver, Chicago,... Traded McCabe and 2000 1st round to Chicago for #4, a few days before draft. Convinced Tampa on draft day to trade their #1 pick, for the #4, and two 3rd round picks. Then traded the #1 to Atlanta, on the stipulation that they pick Patrik Stefan. Leaving Burke holding #2 and #3 for The Twins.
