“Ozzy had two stints and he was able to talk about the early days of his career and he told some real valuable stories that I think Sebastian really appreciated,” Draper said. “And then he also talked about when he came back on his second stint and how he was a different goalie. I think that conversation really registered with Sebastian.”

So Sebastian Cossa listening to Ozzy tell stories, and thus endearing himself to Ozzy, directly prompted his drafting by Yzerman?  Here's what I think happened: Yzerman saw a HUGE, handsome  North American goalie with a lot of swagger and decided to draft him and develop him into Ben Bishop part 2.  Yzerman saw a good, calm Swedish goalie, but knows that a Swedish goalie has never won, so he said nej to the goofy looking rslurred lad.

Yea im with Scott on this one

I find it hard to believe that that design being used for an AIDS monument is totally coincidental.

Good to see the boys golfing

Mo = bad swing, but not terrible. If he cared about golf he defiantly could improve it (he doesn't care about golf apparently, and neither does Walman)

Fabbri = excellent swing, this guy plays

Larkin = such an over the top swing. He could probably rein that in power wise and play better with a smaller/softer technique

Perron seems like the dad out there.

Sounds like Andrew Copp is really into golf. Most players say he would make the best caddy.

Veleno has a terrible swing lol and the team name him the worst caddy and he agrees. But Beggren says Veleno would make the best caddy because he's nice...

Daniel Sprong is much bigger than I thought. He comes off like a thick jock. Excited to see him beat up race car drivers in detroit bars.

I think the Wings are going to surprise a lot of people this year. The people I listen too, other than Damien Cox, no one is mentioning the Wings. All 4 forward lines, and 3 defensive lines are solid. With Boston, Tampa, and Toronto, all on the decline, the Wings will be fighting for a playoff spot.

If the Wings start out strong, you'll hear members of the media say, "Uh yeah, yeah, I knew the Wings improved in the offseason".

I like to talk about the Leafs, but even with a new GM, they still don't understand they need defensemen. They keep talking about grit, but with all that skill, they need another puck moving defenseman to get the puck to Matthews and Marner, and play big minutes. Bertuzzi and Domi aren't the answer. I don't know what fans are expecting from those two. They really aren't big guys.

Anyway it's better to not have attention going into the season. Buffalo and Ottawa have the pressure, the Wings can start the season loose, and ready.

I really do agree with your last statement there. The Wings have no pressure on them, and the league is their oyster if they want it.

I do think Bertuzzi and Domi were good adds for the Leafs. The dimension they've been lacking is attitude players. Domi and Bertuzzi and Reaves are certainly that. I actually like their roster this year more than I've ever liked it.

That said, you're also correct about Dmen. With Muzzin out they are weak as hell at D.

Reilly - Brodie
McCabe - Klingberg
Giordano - Liljegren

Reilly and Brodie are both very flawed puck movers IMO. So is Klingberg - and McCabe should realistically be a 6th/7th Dman. Giordano is aging out and Liljegren doesn't have enough potential to make up for all of this.

I will enjoy watching them fail AGAIN

Jake Walman is better than 5 of those guys lol

I think Wings D > Leafs D right now which I find hilarious. And that' now. Imagine when they level up with all the swedes etc just as the Leafs decent senior D are aging out.  BLOODBATH!!!!!!!!!!!

Walman is certainly better than every single Leafs Dman at actual defense zone defense

Walman - Seider ------------> Great
Chiarot - Petry ---------------> Were great together as the top pair in Habs land
Ghostbear - Maata/Holl ---> Strongest 3rd pair we've seen since Lilja - Chelios
