Zeev will likely be gone before the Red Wings pick. I hope Eiserman continues to fall. Both are likely top 10 picks though unfortunately.

Draper was able to pull off getting Dower-Nilssons brother. I don't think he's going to make the same mistake Tyler Wright did missing out on Andrei Svechnikov. Trust the plan!

I really like Egor Surin, Sacha Boisvert, and Julius Miettenen for guys who should be available around Detroit's pick.

This draft has an Eiserman, a Howe, and a Lindstrom

Cayden Lindstrom would be my ideal scenario draft pick but I think he's off the board by the time we draft. Kid is absolutely everything we need. Big, strong, fast, skilled, mean center. Yes please.

I like Artamonov, Jiricek, or Eiserman for our pick.

Eiserman and Artamanov are both left wingers who can score and play 200ft, and both have a physical edge. Arty is already scoring in the KHL at a pace that only Panarin, Tarasenko, and Michkov have matched at his age. But he actually plays D too. If he's there at Wings pick I don't think you can pass.

Jiricek has future top pairing RHD etched into his forehead. Breaks up 2on1rushes all by himself with ease. And literally tells his forwards where to go and what to do on breakouts. Future backend leader of men.

ELC will be signed this offseason

I really hope so, cuz he clearly has nothing left to learn or prove in the SHL from a development standpoint. He needs to be learning the small-ice game ASAP and I need the closure of knowing whether his game translates to the NA killbox. I'm fairly certain it does, because he's just that good - but I've been wrong before.

To be clear, I think he's got legit superstar potential and he's looking like a home-run pick by Not Kris Draper. But I've lost my patience with this rebuild and I'm all-in on cutthroat acceleration now.

Stamkos is a great player, not a PP specialist, would love to have him. But I think he will get a team friendly deal done with Tampa and retire a bolt.

Oh for sure. By no means do I think the additions in the lineup I posted are expectations. I feel guys like Guentzel, Stamkos, Chychrun, Markstrom would be the best players to target, with the hope that one (maybe two if lucky) can be acquired.

Plenty of options out there outside of those players. Those are more or less off the cuff thoughts of I think who would be great fits in the lineup.

Agree with all except ASP. He will be an NHLer very soon.

He is one season away tops. Wouldn't be surprised and see him pull a Raymond and make the team out of camp this fall.

At worst he will need an adjustment period in GR.

Basically he will be the Edvinsson next year. One of the reasons I see ZERO need to re-sign or replace Ghost. We are 0-1 seasons away from adding a serious backend puck mover.

It's also why I think Yzerman should focus on a top 4 LHD and not a RHD. Seider and ASP will have the right side taken care of. Get a guy like Chychrun, and Chiarot could play on the right side until ASP is ready for that role. He has experience playing on the right side.

Also agree on Ghost. He was a good fit this season. But let Seider and Edvinsson run the pp units next season.

Ghost provided something we didn't have, but he made Chiarot/Petry/Maata/Holl look like Konstantinov out there. And you can't have a Dman who only plays 15 min at even strength a night, almost exclusively in the Ozone, with almost 60 pts, @ 4+ a year and still be -16. It's no wonder he's bounced around the league to only teams desperate for scoring. He's literally not a Dman.

He would be amazing as a 4th line forward if you could talk him down to $1 mil and only stepping on the ice on the powerplay.

Makes lots of sense.

Great video and take. I agree with EVERYTHING. Thanks for sharing.

Bottom line is: TRUST THE PLAN

I think we are going to see prospects start trickling in next season. And this is way better in the long run than losing our 1st to swing on some half baked Frank Vatrano. Step by step we will get there. This is just one building season of many.

I think y’all need to pump the breaks on ASP. Aside from the fact that he hasn’t played on small ice he also wasn’t a dominant SHL defenseman. He had elite production for is age because he was the trigger man on the powerplay. He was pretty sheltered at even strength and wasn’t even the powerplay QB for his team. He just has a really wicked shot but he’s far from a complete enough defender to play in the NHL anytime soon.

You realize we just MISSED the playoffs, right?  Why would we pump breaks on guys that could help us replace players that caused our demise?  Pump the breaks on a first round pick so TRASH Jeff Petry can play 82 games next year and cripple the team AGAIN?  Why would we do that?  Is there some secret Grand Rapids AHL cup mission Im unaware of?

Did I say we should play Petry INSTEAD of ASP? Nope. I've openly called for us to pursue guys like Matt Roy and Brett Pesce to SPECIFICALLY fill the 2nd pair RHD spot. So pipe down cufflink.
