From the Brooks report:

"We are told that has become part of the league-wide conversation, with several teams that otherwise would have been in big-time on Trouba now likely to wait until next year when Dr. Tyson-Trouba’s residency ends with the defenseman having one final season on his contract"

There are several other reports that Trouba did not "react well" to the news of a coming trade.

I don't know what you're on about with this "bending to the will of his employer" bit. Rags are fully within their rights to trade him. And yes, part of being a pro athlete is going to where you are traded and making the apropriate decisions and arrangements for your family in lieu of that. Trouba's not in a unique circumstance. Teams don't care about his family inconvenience. They care about his crap attitude over a family inconvenience.

Remember when Brad Stuart got traded here? Won a cup while flying across the country ever 2nd weekend to visit his wife an TWO kids. ******* absolute champ that guy.

Also, f*** all y'all K later!

What can the Rangers do about it?

"Future Considerations"

San Jose only has 4 Defensemen signed, and ONE Goalie. Holl and Husso to San Jose for MORE future considerations. They have over $16M in cap space, it'll free up another $8.1M for us. Giving us roughly $29M to sign the RFA's and or acquire a better Defender. Might not be done up front either. Even with signing Berggren, that's only 12 forwards where we stand. We dump Husso and Holl, that'll leave room for a 13th forward while having only 2 goalies up and 8 D counting Edvinsson and AJo. IF Laggeson goes to GR.

Dude, we can LTIR Husso.  We dont want to waste a move/favor where we dont have to.  And Holl isnt the problem on defense.  Chiarot and Petry chewing up 8 mil are the problem.  Focus on the problem.

Would love to land Ekblad.

Then when Trouba gets waived to the AHL, and he finally says okay do the Detroit deal, Drury can say that ship sailed partner. You're only options are Calgary or San Jose.

Love how the new Beverly Hills Cop Axel F movie starts off at LCA with a Vegas-Wings game.

Crooks stole a Stanley Cup ring from Petry's stall in the locker room. Petry has never won a Stanley Cup.

As I've said before - we really don't have any generational talent, or guys close to it...We'll have a 'good' team in Detroit - just not likely to be 'great'.

'Minnesota Mediocrity' is real folks...

We don't - and almost certainly won't - have any generational talent. I've long since accepted that. It is what it is.

My thing is this: If we're gonna do the win-by-committee approach...and we're eyeing the playoffs...and we don't have a particularly deep team (the kind of team that can do the win-by-committee thing)...then we need to load up on really good talent from outside the system. That'll make us competitive now, and foster a winning culture for the young guns, and keep pressure off said young guns.

The key is...you have to actually do it. You have to lean into it. If you half-ass a win-by-committee approach, the team will suck and everyone's time and money is wasted. You always need to be on the ball. There's no "Well, maybe we take a step back this year, but it'd be worth it in the long run, because we have some good-not-great prospects coming in four years." That's dumb.

I get frustrated when I feel like Yzerman's taking his foot off the gas in that regard. I know that sounds like I'm just an instant gratification junkie (guilty as charged, I suppose), but it really is more than that. I really don't think treading water is an option, if win-by-committee is the model. If we had two Raymonds and two Seiders and a 2C who's better than Compher, that'd be one thing. But, well, we don't.

Tarasenko's a good add. If we add a really good defenseman, I'm happy. Fingers crossed.

Still out there for bottom 6 and RHD bottom pair:

Tyler Johnson

Tyson Barrie

What do you think about Adam Boqvist?  If we can get him for under 2 mil, we should.  Former 8th OA pick.  23 years old.  SWEDISH.  What the hell is the SCAM waiting for?
