Can't wait to see Chiarot and Petry look clueless for 18 minutes a night this year and wreck what could be a good season.  Thanks SCAM.  Thanks Dycknose.  This team was so close to be REALLY good.  I think we'll end up making the playoffs, but it's not going to be a smooth ride like it should have been.

Long season injuries happen .....

Tonya hasn't returned my call for her "friends" who like to hang out in ice rinks and buckle knees...

Figure if I can get Petry taken out your stress level is halved....lol

Motte - Veleno - Berggren

Chiarot - Seider

Edvinsson - Petry

PP2:

Berggren - Rasmussen - Debrincat

Seider - Tarasenko

Bad guys lines per Matt Vensel:

O'Connor - Crosby - Beauvillier

Bunting - Malkin - Rakell

Mcgroarty - Eller - Puljujarvi

Hayes - Glass - Acciari

Grzelcyk - Letang

Pettersson - Karlsson

Graves - St. Ivany

Jarry

Blomqvist

Pettersson - Letang

PK2:

Acciari - Bunting

Graves - Grzelcyk

Outside of their big four the Penguins suck balls. Especially their bottom 6 and bottom pairing D. Need to exploit those matchups with our superior depth.

However, that 1st unit PP of there's looks deadly, so stay out of the box. Some of their scrappier guys, like O'Connor, Acciari, and Bunting, are going to try to drag us into it.

IMO Copp's line should be matching against that strong Malkin line. Then use Larkin and his line to shutdown Crosby. That leaves JTC's line, with Tarasenko and Kane, to feast on the rest of their ass team.

Lets go boys, need a strong start to the season.

Can’t Fischer PK? I want Larkin all offense all the time.

It should be Rasmussen, but Derek has opted to move him to the PP to start developing his net front instead. This is good.

Why Derek still doesnt trust Fish on the PK is baffling. He killed penalties for Arizona b4 he came to us, and I thought that's why we nabbed him. I honestly didnt expect him to be given an offer to return bc Derek didnt use him on the PK last year. If you're a grinding bottom 6 forward that doesn't PK what's the point?

So exactly which defense prospects are you convinced are better options than Petry and Chiarot?

Seider and Edvinsson are going to probably get the most TOI on D, so I don't know what you are complaining about.

Boy that McGroarty. So good he is on the Pens 3rd line. What was SY thinking not making that deal?

First NHL game. Hell be top 6 before long.

And arent you the one that said hes better than any of our forward prospects?

1. After the WC, sure. After seeing Danielson, MBN, and Kasper progress over the summer, not so much.

2. It was a joke. Since some were raging about Yzerman not making any trades or offer sheets.

I hate our 4th line and don’t understand the point of it. I’d rather see Berggren-Kasper-Mazur with either Veleno or Motte as the 13th forward and Watson in GR. But oh well. Outside of that we need to Upgrade at 2C (looking more and more likely to be Kasper or Danielson long term) and we need a big upgrade at RHD on the 2nd pair. Otherwise this is a pretty competitive roster.

Yea the 4th has zero identity. Motte PK's, Veleno seems like a roleless plug we're just hoping develops into something. And then with Berggren it's like oh yeah you still exist, you might as well just play here too... lol

I would guess the same at 2C and 2RHD as well. Just waiting for Kasper Danielson and ASP at this point.

3 rookies on one line seems like a recipe for disaster.

I don't think they'd be GOOD per se, but given that all three play pretty responsibly for their positions I don't think it would be a disaster either. Kasper and Mazur are both very responsible and effective defensively and I think Berggren is better than he gets credit for. Lalonde very publicly benched Berggren last season after a couple brutal turnovers, but he's never criticized his defensive intelligence or commitment. I've watched a lot of Berggren in Detroit and GR and I think he's actually a pretty effective forechecker and backchecker.

Sorry, we can't play 1st round draft picks until they're 22 years old, and we can't offer sheet 1st round draft picks.  The rules clearly prohibit the Red Wings from doing that.  So we're stuck with the TRASHmen Petry and Chiarot until end of next season.

Edvinsson (5OA) - Seider (6OA)

Broberg (8OA) - ASP (17 OA)

Maatta (22OA) - Johansson (60OA)

Wallinder (32OA)

Cossa (15OA)

Augustine (41OA)

That's what we could have rolled into this season with.  Instead, we're rolling in with a heap of TRASH.  Thanks SCAM.  Thanks Dycknose.

The 4th line should be grinders who can energize the crowd, win puck battles, deliver big hits, punch faces.

Detroit's 4th line are milksops.  As usual.

This roster has the same problem as prior years.  Only one good center.  Too many dumb defensemen.  No real #1 goalie.  Lalonde as head coach.

Johansson and Wallinder are not better than Petry and Chiarot. And ASP has yet to play on North American ice and he is already on your 2nd pair.
