    Instigator Rule

The way I understand it is that the NHL rules are ment to be bent and manipulated by the discression of the NHL however and whenever they see fit. I say this in general to all teams.

    No suspension for Hossa

i think maybe because ovie was a repeat offender that he got suspened. where as hossa was not. its pretty much the same hit though. shouldve gotten at least 2 games i thought.

    Game 7 Chances Poll

Everyone is always freaking out around here about 'Bandwagon fans' and 'LGW BiPolar Disorder' so I decided to put it to the most scientific tool the internet has ever known: THE INTERNET POLL!. Make your choice, will the Wings get a W in Game 7 in Phoenix?

I'm kind of wondering if the refs are watching different games than the rest of us. The Coyotes have had a huge amount of penalties against them yes, but with every one called there are 2 that aren't. They call every little thing against the wings, and it seems like they are trying to even up the penalties. This is absolutely ridiculous. If a team is doing things where they should be called, it should be called regardless of how many the other team has gotten. Now, if they'd just not call the majority of it that'd be better, but if they're gonna call the piddly little crap that they call on the Wings, then let obvious s*** go from the Coyotes, something is wrong. Also, why did Abdelkader get a 10 min game misconduct and Morris did not? I see a lot of things that seems heavily like double standards. Flame away. Edit: In no way did the officiating lose us this game, because our defense was absolutely atrocious, and Howard was a again mediocre at best, but it sure seems like rubbing salt in the wound.

    RAWR WIN!!!!!! How's that?

Bah. Our PK blew that game. The Wings came out of the gate really strong then they fell apart once the PK failed them. Not a good time for the PK to s*** the bed. All we can do is hope the Wings bounce back as well as they have after all of the other losses.

    Instigator Rule

The instigator rule applies always. But if you take an instigator penalty (2min for clearly instigating the fight like Morris did there) in the last 5 minutes you'll get a automatic one-game suspension. Although they made an exception with Chara.

    Dats and Z

I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I'd rather stick with the lines we had. Just because they didn't score on their 3 shifts together doesn't mean there's no chemistry. I see it as a desperation move though. I don't think Babcock puts them together unless we're trailing in the 3rd next game.

So when Schneider is back with Detroit and has a s***ty game, you'll be the first one to say, boy I sure wish we had Rafalski. What a joke

    Abdelkader appreciation thread

Abdelkader should replace Bertuzzi on the roster next year. Hudler will replace the goals Bertuzzi lucked into this year. Get rid of the old baggage on this team like Bertuzzi, Draper and Maltby and get the youth and hunger in here.

    Sad story...

You sir, are an ignoramus. There's hating the Pens/Crosby and then there's taking it to your level. See if you can spot the difference.

    Sad story...

So you're saying that something like this could never happen between the fans of another team? That's rather short-sighted. Stupidity exists everywhere and if you think this is somehow indicative of Penguins fans or what they're like, you're wrong.

I think two very important college coaches have been left out of this poll; Ron Mason and Red Berenson. Red has a 20 year tournament streak going, 10 Frozen Four appearances and 2 national championships. Mason had a 21 year tournament streak with 7 Frozen Fours and 2 appearances in the Championship game with 1 championship. The two of them combined have a ton of CCHA and GLI championships, I don't know the exact numbers. While they were both coaching, the CCHA was always MSU and UM fighting for 1st place with everyone else fighting for 3rd. Personally (and I'm going to get blasted for this because I'm a Spartan) Bo was overrated. Yeah, he cleaned up in the regular season when the Big 10 was the Big 2 and Little 8. BFD. He never won a national championship and was 5-12 in bowls. At least Carr was 6-7 in bowls and has UM's only half-national championship since the 40's. Yost may have won a lot, but his national championships are the back-dated, self-awarded type and from a time where colleges would play high schools and get to count the victories. It's tough to compare what he did to the rest of the coaches that we're talking about. As much as I love Izzo, Scotty is the best coach in MI sports history. Looking at his career as a whole he's one of the best coaches every in any sport. Even just comparing what he did in his time with the Red Wings, it still makes him the best this state has ever seen. A record of 410-193-107-10, never having a losing season, never missing the playoffs, never finishing lowering than 2nd in the division, 4 conference championships and 3 Stanley Cups. And doing all that in just 9 seasons. Izzo isn't there yet. He still needs another championship or 2 before he can take the title of best coach in MI sports history away from Scotty.
